    Expiry 10 May 2024

Thanks OP, perfect timing - my Boost SIM runs out 18 May

    • +7

FYI - It's not a recharge voucher so you'll need to port out & back.

      • +1

Thanks - I haven't got as far as finding a cheap SIM to port to. Is there any suggested cheap ones?

        • +5

Lebara $14.90 Sim, $4 at Woolworths.

          • @hamza23: Excellent, cheers!

          • +1

@hamza23: Is there a minimum time you need to be "ported-out" before you can return to Boost? Or can it be safely done during the same day?

            • +3

@pichxlonco: I have read people doing it the same day, but can't verify. I only port once every 28/30 days.

        • Instead of that, just contact support and tell them you will only stay with Boost if you can recharge using this, otherwise you're leaving, usually they will let you recharge using the same deal as new customers

          • +2

@arvz: Not anymore, flat out rejected for me so I left. Went with a Telstra deal and for some strange reason it's performing better than Boost?

            • @spy: Why is that strange?

              • +1

@gamerkonks: @gamerkonks presumably because Boost uses Telstra network

            • @spy: Boost is rate limited to 150mbps for data.

        • My sim just ended - I got an sms for $30 OFF + 25GB bonus data if I reload ($200 total pay). I think I'll just do it instead of mucking around with porting out etc

          • @BuyNowThinkLater: sounds like a good plan. Sometimes your time is worth more than some discounts.

          • @BuyNowThinkLater: I recently contacted customer service to see if they can offer me anything for reload, I was total there is nothing they can do. Sad.

    • +1

Where did you see that expiry date? I'm looking at the 170GB sim and it says "expiry date circa 9/2025" and "10GB bonus data if activate by 29/4/2024"

      • On the eBay listing for the 260GB.

        • +1

ah, thanks, then i should be ok with the 170GB one :)

        • +1

I never like Lucky Mobile on how they price their SIMs on OzBargain

I’ve changed it to Auditech which they have just dropped their price too

  • I had success in December'23 in getting Boost agent to retain my number on the $230 pack. And this will be the 3rd time doing it without porting out.

  • What if they're OOS by 6pm? :)

    • +1

As the sayings go, you snooze you lose :)

      • Guess its not worth waiting til 6 for the extra 10 bucks.

        • Plenty of stock. Deal is still on.

  • Last time I tried to use these as a recharge, they told me to gfy.
Not worth the hasslle imo unless you're willing to port out first

  • +1

APAYDAY code doesn’t work? Any one experienced same?

    • Getting the same error here…

      • +1

If you’ve used the code before, you can’t use it again

        Only one per acc

    • +4

You need to have Afterpay selected as payment method for it to apply.

      • +2

Thanks. Then ShopBack Westpac can’t be stacked

      • Can I later on switch to PayPal? Or do I absolutely have to pay with afterpay…?

        • +1

Absolutely have to with Afterpay AFAIK.

Somebody did mention in an earlier thread that you could use a custom eBay Gift Card to pay the balance up to $1 and just Afterpay the $1. But then you'd miss the Shopback cashback.

          • @OZBMate8911: So no cashback if paying with giftcard plus Afterpayfor the rest?

            • @lufee: Correct. Cashback voided if any code other than the approved codes listed on Shopback is used, this includes gift cards and other coupon codes.

            • @lufee: I paid $1 with AP and rest $235 by eBay gc. SB tracked $20 cashback.

  • Would this be the cheapest/best option for a sim with international mins and roaming packages?

    • These have roaming packages?

  • Can we get shopback cashback when paying with gift card on ebay?

    • Yes.

  • Damn I am so torn, I want a steam deck so bad but I just know I won't use it much, and then I figure I should just get the OLED anyway, bit this is so much cheaper…woe is me

    • +4

Do my trick, keep contemplating it until it sells out/expires, then you'll have your answer.

      • +1

Lol thanks I think that's just what I'll do

  • Does sim have to be activated in a certain time after purchasing? Or, will anytime before expiry date be fine?

    • +2

there are usually 2 dates. One is when the sim expires, so need to activate it before then. There is another dates that should be BEFORE the expiry date, which is the deadline to get a data bonus. E.g. sim expires in 09/2025 but if you activate before 30 April 2024 you get 10GB bonus

  • +1

I’ve been using the 1 month sim to try out Boost network and I either get super fast or no signal in some places in the city

    • Which city?

  • Should I get Boost 260GB for $236 or Telstra 230GB for $254?

    • +3

Only go directly with Telstra if you like paying more for less data.

      • I believe Telstra will prioritise Telstra direct data uses during peak times (ie, at a big event, eg sport game)

        • +1

I was just at the MCG with almost 80k patrons. My mate (on Telstra Post Paid) and me (on Boost) both struggled with data a various times.

  • Is this stack with westpac cashback as well??

    • +1

No, as you have to go through Afterpay for the code to work

  • +1

I got it for $206, I got a afterpay referral code, signed up and received another $30 off

    • how did you get it ?

      • +2

Click on random on the Afterpay page

        • I sent the request a while ago but still waiting…

  • Hi, can you port out from Telstra and into Boost?

  • $230 Sim card gone

    • +2

Lucky have them 1 cent cheaper: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/354911138761

      • But lucky is short date activate. Audi is 2025 activate

        • Where does it say they're short dated?

Edit: Expiry Date: 300-365 Days … which is 2025 also…

          • @FLICKIT: In the desc

$230 365days SIM card starter kit 170GB (If active before 29/04/2024

            • @kickling: That's just for the bonus 10GB data… The Audi description says much the same:

Audi> Receive 10GB bonus data if activate by 29/4/2024

(These are a 160GB card with 10GB bonus if activated by 29/04/2024… but the reality is these bonus data deals generally don't expire, they tend to be ongoing)

              https://boost.com.au/products/230-prepaid-sim
Includes 170GB on activation for new customers. 160GB on next recharge. Activate by 29 Apr 24

  • Grrr, I purchased before shopback offer kicked in.

  • +1

Has anyone received shopback tracking notification yet?

    • Can't say I have. Started the process and checked out about 610pm. Shopback app > eBay app

    • Not yet. It’s been 2 hrs since purchase.

    • yes received this morning , transaction done via Shopback app > eBay app

    • Cashback tracked $20

  • Under $600 for a Steam Deck is a bargain!

    • Do you also get the $10 shipping. I feel like it should say $592 + delivery but I'm not sure if it's just me.

      • I do too but $602 is still a bargain. All time low.

        • Agreed. Just wasn't sure if it was just me..

          • +1

@maverickjohn: I didn't check before, I wasn't buying one. Just going by the price OP gave.

  • Same price at Kogan $602.88 Delivered (Dick Smith's parent company)

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/175868396419

  • Can we change it to eSim?

    • +1

if i remember, yes! there is a post here in ozbargain with more details.

instead of out of stock link .many thanks

    • What's the expiry on your $230 SIM?

  • Purchased 2X $230 SIM from Lucky last night for $361.83 total…happy!

  • There is a 15% cash back deal in cashrewards for optus prepaid plans , so 220$ plan with 260gig data with cash back comes to around 187 something which I think is a good deal those who are interested more in data bank

  • What’s the cheapest/easiest way to port out and back in to Boost?

  • +1

just buy lebara $14.90 sim then back to boost

  • Port from kogan to boost took about 3 mins. Shocked. Finally off kogan!!!
