You can get the G84 for$289 by simply calling The good guys sales team and asking for a best offer. I did this couple of months ago and was offered for that price. My mom is pretty happy with her G84 which was a gift from me.

The Android 14 Feb 1 patch just rolled out for my handset today, which fixes all the issues I had using this phone for work.

So, A+ handset for the price — I'm sure they'll clear these out in a couple months in prep for whatever they're planning to release in Q3 this year.

  • My biggest issue with this phone is that there's a case but no screen protector in the package and no local shop that sells a screen protector that will fit apart from Officeworks who want $30 for a custom one cut to fit). So I've had to order a screen protectoe online and I'm staring at the box on the desk wondering when I get to use my new phone.

    • this phone…?

Ive been using the g82 and now the g84 in a mechanics workshop environment and its still scratch free.

This isnt gorilla glass, this is regular silicone glass, so scratches are pretty difficult to get.

      • I've never put o a screen protector by choice.

Currently only very fine scratches on an Oppo phone, but I don't mind, not noticeable when the phone is ON. I refuse to use a SP, though

        • May be it's merely preferences, the same applies to comments with lots of +/- … each-to-their-own 🤔

A friend held the same view, but dropped his phone & the screen cracked.

@ab c: Silicone glass is only vulnerable from the edges.

This isnt a curved screen, so the odds of Screen protectors making a difference ia very close to zero.

G84, I had JB price match (online chat) Big W and then used AFTERPAY30 to bring it down to $299. (under $300 tax dedection, nice bonus).
Coming from a G82 which I have butched, cracked screen/bent it, so was a matter of time before it truly died.
Bought this for the cover and screen protectors : https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/295752145816

Just so everyone is aware, @Ekoz was able to price match the Everyday Extra price of $296.10 @ JB. As always, YMMV but still worth a shot.

I told him everyday extra membership is free for 1 month. He showed me on the system it was showing 297 so he said 296 is good.

Failing that, you can call TGG on 1300 942 765 and ask for their “best price”.

  • anyone know if the dialer app is in house or are they using google dialer? if it's in house, does it have call recording?

i can get a s20+ 5g snapdragon variant for cheaper and flash xsa - inu csc to get call recorder.
