[VIC] $10 Pint of Heineken Beer at 24 Victorian Venues @ The Pass App

91

I know you can get a pint of Carlton Draught for $10 during happy hour at some regional pubs, but this seems like a pretty good price for Heineken at some nicer venues in the city and not limited to set hours. As examples, State of Grace normally sells a Heineken pint for $17.30, Garden State is $16.50, etc.

Grab a Heineken Pint for $10 across selected VIC venues, exclusively via The Pass!

Available from 11th March to 7th April, see in-app for details.

*$10 price only available at selected venues in Victoria, when ordering via The Pass app from 11/3/2024 to 7/4/2023. Discount applied at checkout.

    Pints of Heineken Beer

    I'd rather drink Carlton Draught.

    • Seen any good specials in the city @jv ?

I'm worried I'm too cheap to spend another $4-6/pint at these venues for Carlton Draught…

      • I paid over $40 for 2 pints and a packet of chips about a week ago…

(It was an IPA though, not Carlton Draught)

I paid over $40 for 2 pints and a packet of chips about a week ago…

          😱

We might need a royal commission

(It was an IPA though, not Carlton Draught)

          Oh, whoops… maybe not yet

@WatchNerd: That's the problem with pubs, they don't list the prices at the bar…

            • @jv: Not an excuse at all!

              • @pizzaguy:

                Not an excuse at all!

It is if you have already skulled half the pint before the price appears on the EFTPOS machine…

                • +1

@jv: You're skulking half a pint of IPA? And just when I thought you'd reached rock bottom we find out this 'fact'

Have your ever been to Oxford Scholar, 427 Swanston Street (near RMIT University)? They always have good/decent beers for $10 a pint/$20 jugs. https://www.theoxfordscholar.com.au/

(profanity) me I was about to say "me too" then realised who had made the comment.

    • +3

      Same.
Heineken is one of those beers that had to be super cold or it's pretty average.

    • -2

      Heineken = beer
Carlton draught = vb = mega swill.

sigh… I miss cheap beers in Asia

sigh… I miss cheap beers in the rest of the world

      FTFY

Ya beer was literally cheaper in Switzerland in Zermatt than here.

  • +7

So sad that this is a “deal”

  • I know you can get a pint of Carlton Draught for $10 during happy hour

I know that Heineken is also a cheaper beer to buy than CD or VB.

  • +3

Not a deal if it's the Australian brewed-under-license crap.

    • Made in Australia is crap?

      • +1

Australia makes a lot of good beer, Heineken/Peroni/Beck's/Kirin etc brewed here "under license" are not among them.

        • I would've thought made in Australia versions of those would be good. What makes them bad?

          • @arcticmonkey: They're all super bland lagers here.

Heineken from the OG factory in the Netherlands has a nice tinge of banana in it IMO.

        • Better than carlsberg.

        • +1

Heineken has been a very mediocre beer everywhere I've had it. UK (where it's ubiquitous), Netherlands, here. Carlton draught on tap (in Vic) leaves it for dead.

  • +1

This deal wouldn’t work in NSW, $10 is too much. Victorian beer prices are obscene

    • Pint v schooner pricing/volume accounted for in that state comparison?
(I'd say schooner is more a common size in NSW and therefore a bit cheaper. )

      • You seem to pay $10 for a schooner of Draught down there now. Our prices are much lower across the board.
In the CBD a schooner is about $8.50 normal and $6 happy hour, pints $10-$11 normal and $8-9 happy hour.
We also have full flooded pokies which sucks

        • Perhaps the scum pokies subsidises the beer.

I'd rather not see people's lives get ruined through pokies.

  • +5

The state of play when $10 for a pint of mass market grain water is considered cheap. Jesus wept!

So tired of this company buying every single pub and making them into the McDonalds of Pubs.

There's crazy situations where they own pubs across the road from each other and the menus and beer offerings are identical. You'll be able to rattle them off, Balter XPA, Stone and Wood Pacific etc.

It's so sad, it's almost like they've been sent by the big brewers to kill the craft beer scene by killing access to taps.

    • That's exactly what I think is happening, Donald.

  • +2

sitting in the sunshine at Burleigh Heads drinking $9 pints of Byron Bay Lager. After $18 for parma + pint

    gee I miss Melbourne.

  • +1

    Pass

  • Erm thanks, but I'll stick with $8 pints of GN at me local. No ridiculous prerequisite of installing some dumb app either.

  • Nowhere in Australia. :(
    Only Victoria.
