With the current eBay Plus discounts, it's possible to get an incredibly cheap Eonon Android 13 car stereo head unit. I purchased the kit above for 356.99 which includes the head unit (Eonon UA12S Plus with 6GB RAM and Snapdragon Kryo 260 CPU), 720p front camera, reversing camera, and a OBD2 CANBUS scanner! I used the MAR15 eBay code, you can probably get more off with the MAR17 code. I contacted Eonon directly and they confirmed that the Australian eBay store is associated with Eonon. They also say they provide a 2 year warranty.

  • Forgot to add, this of course supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

  • What purpose does a front camera serve?

    • Likely a dash camera.

Always best to click a link before asking or even checking the thumbnail. "DASHCAM".

    • So you can easily line up your wheel to squish your fugly Seiko Coutura.

I brought a ATOTO F7WE for 149 Aussie pesos and so far pretty positive. Wireless Apple and Andriod pray has been been pretty good. I have 2 eonon before and both died of horrible deaths after 6 months.

Where did you buy them from? eBay or eonon.com website? Did you try and claim under warranty?

    • Maybe they don't build em like they used to but still got the old GA2165 running in my car after 6 years.

That was a great deal. Has been flawless in my son's car.

I have that one in our second car. In many respects, it's a better unit than the Sony XAV-AX6000.

Display - F7WE higher res, better AA layout, see much more map. The F7WE display is inset, so a bit harder to clean.

Connection - Sony - easier to manage and switch devices

Wifi - F7WE - possibly a more stable connection than the Sony unit.

General build - Sony has much better buttons and generally feels more solid

Startup time - win for the Sony unit, though, the F7WE is good enough.

Software - draw. I haven't looked in detail as I just use AA but Sony software seems to be more polished. Atoto has easier access to functions such as screen brightness and apps to mirror the screen.

Sound - possibly the Sony unit but both have been pretty much on par with the previous OEM units.

Price - you could buy the F7WE 4 or 5 times in place of the Sony unit.

  • For anyone who has something similar, is it annoying having the controls on the "wrong" side? Or is it just something you get used to quickly

    • Mostly use steering wheel controls so doesn't seem to affect me much

  • Add to your watch list and Eonon usually send an offer (though not sure if they stack with codes now I think about it)

  • I just want to put a bit of clarification on the branding - Eonon is relatively reputable in the way of customer service so its a good choice if you are wanting an android headunit. The main thing to take note is that these headunits are mass produced out of the same factory and then brands like Eonon slap their logo and start up splash on them and thats about it. If you look on the Eonon website you will see multiple different facias but the same hardware. So just something to note when someone says "I bought eonon and it was complete crap" - if you are buying an android based headunit like this you're almost certainly buying one that came out of the same factory and it is luck of the draw with quality control.

My recommendation is aim for something with at least 4gb of ram, like this model, as 2gb of ram can stutter quite bad for carplay/android auto. Aside from that this is a great all in one package deal for someone looking to upgrade their car a little bit, perfect for the average r/ausfinance user in their 99 camry!
