Reviews on Amazon show low durability, with the head falling off after a low number of usages

  • I've heard of this brand before but cannot confirm if this is a good buy or not… Anyone able to provide input?

    • Anova were the first to sell domestic sous vide units and everyone else followed their lead. Some other brands have outdone Anova in some aspects, but most don’t measure up - it’s a lot like comparing Apple to Android. The Anova app is awkward in some aspects, but overall useful.

Wait for a big sale (usually Fathers Day and Black Friday, possibly Mothers Day?) and buy the Anova Pro sub $300

      Edit: sale price

    • Anova Culinary is in fact the company that first introduced immersion Precision Cooker concept. All other brands are followers copied from their design more or less (If not completely).

    • Average gear, trading on being the first to popularise the format. App is terrible, and they don't care that it is (I've got the oven, which is great (if cheap enough), but the app for that is also sub-standard). Anova has fanbois, for some reason, and they tend to be like Apple/Elon fanbois.

  • Nearly as cheap as the Inkbird, which IMHO is far better than the (full-size) Anova stick I had
