Saw this popup on my facebook page from Kogan

"Take cooler photos with your smartphone with this Lens Kit now available at Kogan for just $24! The kit includes a Fish Eye Lens, a Macro Lens and a Wide Angle Lens. We'll also cover the shipping cost for you."

Not sure how good they are.
They come with adhesive rings to stick it onto your camera. The picture shows IP5, but not sure what other phones it'll work on.

I've never tried these before so I dont know how good the photos are, if anyone here's tried them, please give comments.

The website says "Please note depending on your model of phone the lenses may obscure your phones built-in flash" has anyone had this problem with their phone?

  • i think you maybe able to find it cheaper on ebay.
unless the new iphone5 has a metal backing and is magnetic…
these usually require you to glue on on a metal ring on your phone. So its stuck there even if u dont have the lens on. they were able to cleverly hide that in the photos…

i bought a fish eye lens on ebay, where u dont have to stick a ring on your iPhone permanently. you just have to put on case that u can screw the lens on.

  • Does this really help with picture quality? Can anyone provide feedback on this aspect?

these lenses don't improve picture quality…they just provide different focal lengths. ie. macro for close up, wide angle to get more in the shot, etc. they let you get different TYPES of shots.

unless you replace the existing lens, you can't improve quality by putting another lens in front!

it might just make it worse depending on lens quality

  • I've bought this before & it is crap -adhesive come off after a while, shabby lens quality, even worse picture quality. You can pick up something like this on eBay even cheaper if you really want it, but I suggest not to bother. You'll end up chucking it in the bin!

If you want a quality lens kit for an iPhone; I suggest buying the Olloclip: http://www.olloclip.com
-Great quality, very sturdy & produce great shots. It doesn't obscure the flash on any of the iPhones. It doesn't work on iPhone 5 yet though (new model out soonish).

I always get great shots using the olloclip. Mundane things you wouldn't normally shoot come up awesome with the macro lens! lol

Have noticed the prices in Oz for the Olloclip can vary greatly & have come across a lot of imitations. The original comes with a the logo on the microfibre pouch & the brand is embedded on the lenses. And no, I don't work for them, I just love my olloclip! :)
