AMD Ryzen 7/9 7800/7900 X3D from USA

Hello Fellow Ozbargainers.

I've come across a price drop on the 7900X3d, but I'm not sure if it counts as a deal, as I can't seem to figure out if we can get our hands on it at the advertised price.

I came across this link that made me aware of the discount.

(Basically discounting the 790X03D to $590 which is really good value.)

Can you please advise if it's possible to obtain at that price? And if so, how?

Amazon tacks on $28 shopping and $62 in GST so that's a no go (thanks to Gerry Harvey).

Newegg AU shows $739. Is there a way I can shop Amazon USA via Amazon Australia and use my Prime membership to enable delivery? Or drop ship it somewhere to re route to me?

I'm happy to pay a bit for shipping. These are limited numbers so I hope I figure something out quickly.

Thanks very much in advance! 😁👍

You're brave ordering such a delicate part from overseas. How is the warranty and returns handled should anything happen to it?
There's a few around $718 in Oz, 1 with free shipping

Another thing to consider is free game promotions. You just missed our on Avatar. Would it be worth holding out for the next one?

    • "You're brave ordering such a delicate part from overseas"

You clearly havent seen AMD's packaging before. It's not a thin paper box like intel.

    • But $600 vs $720 is a big jump.
I'd rather hold out for the 7800X3D because that's already close to the $550 mark atm and it should go under $500 or nearby for EOFY sales.

      • It's not $600 though, you yourself said it was $682 after shipping and GST.

  • Following the link at the bottom of the page on my desktop seemed to bring it up for $402 USD on the Amazon page. On my phone however it would only direct me to the Australian listing for $750.

    • Exactly the problem that I'm having.
And there's no escaping the 10%gst which is a bummer.

      • Still is a lot cheaper than purchasing here when you apply the coupon. If you're having trouble just open in a incognito browser.

        • It works out to only $38 after shipping, conversion and gst. So sad. If I can ship it to a mate, tax free, who can then ship it to me here, then no GST. But all the re-direction companies will probably charge GST.

          • @lordra: $38 isn’t much to save considering your friend would have to put a really low value on the parcel which invalidates any insurance

            • @Postal Dude: True that. Not worth the hassle.
A real shame. Unless newegg then offers that price in Oz.

  • Did you covert the from USD to AUD plus shipping? Our dollar is so low at the moment, don’t think it’s worth it buying from the US.

    • Yep, NewEgg shipping is $75, so that's ruled out. It will have to be Amazon.

      Items: USD 406.02
      Shipping & handling: USD 18.40
      Your Coupon Savings: -USD 17.03
      (so free shipping)
      Total before GST: USD 407.39
Estimated GST to be collected: USD 40.74
      Order total: USD 448.13
      which is approx $682.
It can be had here for $720 from MWave. So a paltry $38 saving. Which is crap. If I can get it for the listed price of AUD$593, then THAT will be awesome.
But sadly, no one coming here from USA nor is shipping to a mate, then re-shipping here possible.

So basically if you can get it without paying for shipping and GST, it'll be cheaper. Isn't that true of pretty much every product?

Australian retailers look to have the same price drop going on, which is why it's $720, retail price is $950ish here. Once you add in that we tend to have a higher cost on most things due to smaller volumes and better warranty, it works out pretty much as expected. Even in the US they still have sales tax in most states so even if you had a mate, they'd have to pay that (unless they live in Delaware or Alaska or something).

I would just stick to buying in Australia, not worth the hassle if you have warranty issues down the line.

        • Sigh.
Yes, I suppose so. I got excited over nothing. 😪
