    can the RAM be upgraded?

    • -1

Theyre good for student and that but limited market if cant get any dcent performance

      • +4

These will perform just fine for most things most people will need to do on a laptop.

      • ThinkBook 14 G2 ITL is the model in your spec link - Not quite the models listed above

  • Ram is soldered and there are no spare slots for upgrade on both models. Still a pretty good travel laptop for the price.

      • Can "Box Damaged" = "Returned Item"?

Would check battery life if anyone was going to buy. I had rubbish life on my 11th gen Dell.

  • Remember to disable Shipping Insurance $18.38 to get $650

The i5-1135G7 a four year old CPU, coupled with only 8gb of ram… I bought a Lenovo windows tablet a few years back, and now it's so slow I can't even browse the internet with it and I paid a lot more than this laptop is going for. Be sure to do your homework on these laptops and don't fall for the price or you might regret it.

mate, this should not be lenovo problem, you might have caught virus or have too many start up apps. Any laptop less than 10 year old can handle internet browing these days. I have a intel 4th gen i5 (about 10 years old), 8gb ddr 3. There are no problems in browsing internet, watching youtube and light 2D gaming. Suggest you back up all your personal files and reinstall windows.

we have 9th gen laptops at work and they're chugging along pretty well

You should not be negged. 8GB in 2024 is not good even if it can watch a video, browse the web and run Word.

      • Not sure why people are giving me negs, but that seems to be the way on this site… I'm not attacking anyone, but just speaking from my experience. I'm not a complete novice as I've built multiple ITX PC's from scratch. I wiped and re-installed windows on the laptop just last month in the hopes I could use it for my Cyber Security course which I am currently undertaking, but to no avail. If people feel this way about 'great deals', by all means, enjoy your purchase everyone. I'm sure these will last most users fine for many years. My only advice is know what you are buying, and don't just jump on a 'great deal' only because it's affordable.

        • +1

It's because the site owners and moderators insist on keeping negs private. People can neg anything they don't like with impunity to silence whatever view they don't like. (Negs that are downvoted won't be visible to casual visitors and people who haven't set up their thresholds, which I assume is a lot of people.)

  • If the 13" Laptops had 16GB Ram and was like $650, i'd be telling our IT to jump on these…as they buy 9th gens for around the same price too (seen the receipts)

    • i7-1165G7 is 11th gen, not 9th gen.
So why not get these over the 9th gen ?
8GB RAM should be alright for office work.

    • Sounds like your it are buying 4 year old refurbs…

Don't need the latest and greatest for an Earthmoving/Construction company.

The 13s is the pick with that 16:10 screen in my opinion.
Better value might be to go on ebay or fb, try and grab a used 16gb version if you can find one.

    • I5 verus i7. I would pick the i7

      • Very little difference between them, same cores and threads. Cache 8mb vs 12mb

        https://www.reddit.com/r/framework/comments/soqnon/intel_i51…

        • That's very misleading… most would have thought a large gap between i7 and i5.
          It a slightly bigger screen.

          • @congo: Yeah I agree, not sure what Intel were doing with 11th gen.
Yes, slightly bigger screen but I reckon it's in the wrong direction (16:9 vs 16:10). Just drew them both out, area of the 14" is 0.0540m2 vs 13.3" is 0.0512m2…pretty close hey.

  • Very tempted to get the 13" model… perfect size for me.

      thats what she said…

  • Does anyone know if this is a touchscreen or not? Thanks.

  • I have placed an order for 13s earlier today, i just checked my order in wireless 1 portal and… order has been cancelled, no emails from wireless 1 to advise of cancellation nor paypal refund. Anyone else expirienced same?

  • I ordered $649 yesterday and got the call today that its been oversold, they want to change my order for another product $799!

    • So no additional charge? If so. Take it.

      • They want to charge me extra $150….

  • I've just received and updated a 13S, when I checked the warranty via the Lenovo Vantage app it shows Warranty Status : Out of Warranty Current Service & Support Status 0 months remaining start 30/06/2022 end 29/07/2023.

Has anyone else checked the status of their warranty?
