Cheapest Plan with Some Data for Galaxy Watch?

So turns out you can use the "hack" / dev options menu in the Galaxy Wearable to enable manually adding eSIM from a QR code, hence why I'm after a cheap plan with few hundred MB of data per month.

Idea is I don't need to carry my phone if I don't want to - I can receive notifications on my watch and use remote calling to redirect calls / sms from my phone to my watch over the internet.

Any decent deals? Most providers that offer eSIM seem to all have rather "expensive" plans ie $15/month or more. I can see there are other posts on this topic but all those deals have since expired…

What a first world problem.

Edit: I figured out the cheapest method: the free Eskimo eSIM.

1GB I think for 1 year or 2 or what not should be plenty for my needs.

If you're looking for an affordable plan with a small amount of data for your Galaxy Watch in Australia, here are a couple of options:

    1. Vodafone Prepaid: Simply purchase a Vodafone prepaid SIM card and recharge it with the $10 pay-as-you-go plan. By signing up for auto-recharge, you'll receive 1GB of data that lasts for 60 days. Additionally, this plan includes $10 credit for calls and texts. It's a cost-effective way to keep your Galaxy Watch connected without breaking the bank².

    2. Optus: If you're considering the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, Optus currently offers a bundle deal that includes a 40mm Galaxy Watch 6 (valued at $648). When you add a $10/month Watch plan, you'll get 1GB of data, allowing you to use internet-connected features on your watch without needing your phone nearby³.

Remember to check the details and coverage in your specific area to choose the best plan for your needs! 📶🌐

I'm convinced this guy is an LLM lol

  • This one suggests Pay and Go Voda. You'd need to work out whether that advice is still valid.

Supermarkets quite frequently have those sims on special.

    • The free monthly Seeek sim worked for me but I can only make and receive calls over Bluetooth. What is this call over internet workaround you use? I find my watch practically never connects to 4g anyway.

      • Wow, you actually managed to get one? I'm still on the waiting list.

lol… and when you need it, the watch battery will die…. please dont

    • I charge every night lol. And this is for quick Aldi trip or going for a run. Makes life easy. And my battery lasts all day easily with like 50% left in the tank.

      • Hey I'd like to know if you've found the Remote Connection function to be effective? I've got a bluetooth Galaxy Watch7 but thinking I should've gone for the LTE after considering this.

  • Kogan mobile - 120GB for 365 days for $120.

They currently have a 2 for 1 deal for their 300GB and 500GB plans which are $270 and $300 respectively. (so you can get 2 500GB plans for $300 total - they last 365 days).

Kogan are a Vodafone reseller and I've found them to be 1000% better than Optus.
