  • I hope this Soy version taste better than $1.15 Aldi ones…

    • @cloudie9, try the organic one at Aldi. Less ingredients, whole beans.

    • +2

The oat milk one is way better than other varieties. Give it a try at this price.

    • +1

Most likely more nutritious; cheap soy milk has ~2% protein; Vitasoy, etc. has ~15% (Milky used to be at lows of $1.45 at supermarkets).

Best value is the Coles or Macro (Woolworths) soy for $1.60/L with ~15% soy protein. Hasn't changed since pre-Covid.

    • Yeah they are not great!

  • +1

Been using the Woolies soy milk for $1.15 each

    • Other soy milk mention "soybean xx%" but Woolworths soy milk shows "Soy Protein". What's the difference?
      Ingredients
Water, Soy Protein (4.0%), Maltodextrin, Canola Oil, Sugar, Acidity Regulator (Phosphoric Acid, 526,Potassium Citrate, Magnesium Carbonate), Emulsifier (450), Mineral Salt (509), Vitamin Premix (Vitamin (Riboflavin,Vitamin A, Vitamin B12)).

      • +3

Soy protein is a protein that is isolated from soybean. It is made from soybean meal that has been dehulled and defatted. Dehulled and defatted soybeans are processed.

Whole soy beans is better and less processed.

Compare it to the ingredients of Bonsoy, which tastes way better:

Filtered water, Organic (Certified USFDA, NOP) Whole Soybeans (min. 14%), Tapioca Syrup, Sea Salt, Job’s Tear (Hato Mugi), Calcium Carbonate.

On the other hand, Bonsoy is ridiculously expensive.

    Best Almond Milk, both varieties.

    Best oat milk too

    • Yes I agree, creamiest too

To give some fatty flavour to coffee or cereal while trying not to cause cows to be kept in lifelong pregnancy which breaks their bodies and have their calves taken away from them right after they're born, until they stop producing milk and are killed, because that sounds unnecessarily cruel for a tiny bit of fatty sugar water which can be made as a decent substitute with other methods, while also wanting to reduce emissions from the animal industry as we break heat records year after year.

        • My bad. I should have been more clear. I mean more carbs than almond and soy milk. There is to many carbs in some alternatives milk like oat and rice milk.

          • @Dienk: Generally because it tastes better, at least than soy. I'd buy almond or oat at this price, think afaik oat is much better environmentally.

    • Which version?
      The Milky or unsweetened?

They have only a 12 pack milky, but which is currently unavailable, or the unsweetened in single cartons

      • Unsweetened is what we use

  • My go to soy milk!

  • It appears Vitasoy do not have unsweetened soy milk.
I thought about trying if they do
I drink Pure Harvest Unsweetened Soy milk… Always $2 at ColesWorths

  • I'm not seeing the S&S option for these now, anyone else?

  • So much of variety in the market these days…Which one of these brands is the healthiest replacement of milk in terms of less calories, highest calcium and protein?

Unpopular opinion, Bonsoy oat is the worst of all its competitors.

Minor Figures is great, especially for coffee.

    • Bonsoy don't make an oat milk.

    • Minor Figures is by far the worst oat milk i've ever had there are many better alternatives

  • Love the oat milk with any coffee

  • This would be the best almond milk (milky variety) by far, it is slightly higher calories is all.

  • Thanks; bought 36 x rice milk.
