I purchased the watch as I don't mind the lime colour pictured, but when I received the watch the actual colour is disgusting indeed. It is more like that yellow colour around JB HiFi logo. I did complain and was offered a refund or a replacement to a different colour. So I got it replaced to graphite.
Great watch at an awesome price.
No garmin pay .. forget it
Great Watch.. I personally like this color.
Both are showing as full price for me.
I think its a Perks only sale
Great watch. I’m still using my first gen Instinct and it’s like a tank.
As part of same deal, ECOVACS GOAT G1 Robotic Lawn Mower is perks price 1999 instead of regular 2999. I've been looking at robot mowers, but waiting on at least gen 2 or 3 of proper mapping mowers. It seems like the development curve is heaps slower compared to indoor vacuum/mops.
I, too, wait patiently. Hoping the success of robot vacs will help manufacturers get their act together with mowers
Great deal. Probably better value than the Garmin Instinct Solar for $289 from Amazon US three months ago.
solar you never have to charge
Only Instinct 2 for standard use. Still have to charge on the Instinct 1.
I have one, you definitely have to charge it, in theory its unlimited but in practice rarely so. I did about a year on a rooftop, no shade whatsoever, best time I could get was 26 days and I was getting well over the quoted amount for unlimited power on smart watch mode.
Having said that, hard to complain 26 days on one charge with vibration notifications and the rest. Still an awesome feature.
No, Solar is better for Garmin Pay .. unless you like using your phone all the time for every payment
Is Garmin pay available in the Instinct 1 Solar?
This or Forerunner 245music?. I know this one has NFC but not sure it's available in Australia or not
only the 2 solar has nfc
doesn't have NFC for garmin pay .. forget the 245 and instinct 2 .. unless instinct 2 solar.
Any idea if this is 40 or 45mm?
45mm
I cannot recommend this watch enough for someone that just wants a notification vibration on their wrist. Its got heaps of other features but the soul fact that it lasts more than a week on one charge and tells me when people are calling means its an instant buy for me. There is a new version out, which I suspect they may be clearing stock for that? (Instinct 2X and Instinct Crossover). I know they don't have them physically in store yet as I went for a squizz yesterday. Solar does work well, but its not perfect. I sat it on the window sill for a day in Germany and it gave me enough charge to get back home which was super handy, from my experience the device does need to be powered on to activate solar charging.
For this price I genuinely don't think you can get any better. My only real complaint is the proprietary charger isn't the greatest, so I have to double check its actually connected and charging. Minimal issue though considering I charge it 1-2 times a month max.
Consider the Casio GBD-200 they have some similar features and the battery lasts about 2 years.
I won't lie the added fitness features are super beneficial, and I love the compass, altitude meter etc. I have grown to love the added features I paid for. But what an awesome suggestion if you don't need them, I almost wish I knew about this before I bit the bullet on the garmin, now I am spoilt.
Battery lasts < 12 months with Bluetooth on, but interesting alternative for the anti-Apple/Garmin crowd.
Venu Sq for $99 with JB Perks previously would be better than this all round
this or a $1000 apple watch with 24 hr battery - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/833231#comment-15002259
lol
Looking for a (non-Apple) watch with fitness & sleep tracking, ideally including HRV. GPS for tracking runs without a phone would be a good bonus.
Is this Instinct 2 the best bang for the buck?
I don’t know about all that but my original Amazfit Bip has been going strong for years and still lasts for days per charge.
It's ok but no Garmin Pay so you're still stuck opening your phone everytime for payment
I would say so. It's even less than the entry level forerunner, but has quite a few more features as well as rugged casing and an anti-theft colour scheme! I'm certainly tempted to get it for the battery life alone, to replace my entry level forerunner.
wish it's for the 2s
can these bands be replaced?
Thanks OP, bought one.
Had trouble accessing the deal despite being already a perks member. So I ended up having to open a new JBHifi Perks account, which then gifted me a fresh $10 voucher, so brought the price down to $239 + postage. Even sweeter deal!
Great deal but that colour is disgusting
