This previously popular switch is back on sale and while it does cost a bit more than last time it's still a whole lot better than the normal ~A$64 price.

This one features 5x 2.5Gbps RJ45 ports with 1Gbps backwards compatibility and a single 10Gbps SFP+ port. The switch is unmanaged and has a metal housing instead of a cheap TP-Link plastic.

As with other low budget 2.5Gbps switches this one is identical on the inside to the MokerLink that Server at Home reviewed here. These are an excellent choice for those running their own homelab or home network with a faster connection. I personally have my NAS drives and PCs on a 2.5Gbps network for faster local transfer speeds.

AU$ based on current MasterCard rate and GST inclusive.

These AliExpress deals are more limited than an OzRRP Aldi deal lol

Hopefully when the 7pm rolls around they'll restock.

  • Great unit. Been solid for almost a year. 2PCs and 1 NAS connected and 10GB to Unifi Switch. Transfers at 287 MB/s bewteen them. Runs cool.

  • Anyone had experience with their unmanaged PoE switches? Looking for a 16 port for home (don't expect to use more than 8 for PoE though.

Specifically want unmanaged, as I'll have three Gen 1 Google Wifi's with backhaul back to the switch (managed switches interfere with the backhaul mode according to Google), plus I don't really need a managed switch anyway.

I'd love to go Ubiquiti but simply don't have the budget for their ecosystem, and have fairly basic needs.

Had been looking at the TP Link TL-SG116P (~$190).

Huh? More likely, clueless owners. A hyperlink?

I tried posting a link to a Poe keeplink on Ali that I bought a while back but it got deleted for referral link? Anyways, I have one. Works fine. I bought an 8 port for US$25 a couple months back. Prices fluctuate wildly so if you're not in a hurry, wait for prices to drop. Currently looks like it's US$42.

  • Will any SFP+ work with this, can I just use this one for a solid 30 meter connection?
