Best Credit Card with Non-Points Perks

What credit card has the best non-points perks?

Obviously the most valuable aspect of credit cards is airline points for flights.

But as a young family with 2 kids we’re not in a position to fly around and definitely not on points so points are less useful to us.

We still want to have a credit card however and we were wondering what credit card might have the best non-points perks? Eg actually useful travel insurance, warranty or price protection for purchases.

Ideally ongoing perks as we would struggle to keep churning cards. Happy to pay a fee if there was definite value in doing so.

  • price protection or purchases.

    Afaik none offer this anymore

  • not in a position to fly

No need to fly, can use them to buy gift cards.

    actually useful travel insurance

I assume domatic travel? Within Australia, you don't need insurance and only few cards offer that. Just get excess reduction insurance when needed.

  • Godspeed Diners Club

  • I feel like you just need a credit card that accumulate points fast ish, so you'll get more point on day-to-day spending, and then use the point to buy giftcard.

    why no points?

Bendigo Ready… basically a Bankwest Zero Platinum but with slight changes here and there which I find better (e.g. 90 days consecutive travel insurance instead of 1 month, up to 2yrs extra extended warranty instead of 1yrs).

It's been a while since I've read the PDS on the perks so do take a look to make sure the current benefits is to your liking.

  • ColesMC platinum. Use accumulated flybuys to get $10 off at flybuys partners. Adds up over time.

You're probably better off with a HSBC debit card that has 2% cashback on taps.

    • This is my conclusion based on my spending habits. But my $300 savings per year isn't all savings as i use the cashback to help offset card surcharges so i don't need to carry around too much cash with me.
