(NSW) Powershop Lowering Their FiT to 6 Cents - Any Recommendations on Who to Move to?

Hi all, just got an email from powershop notifying me that they are lowering my Feed in Tariff (FiT) from 12 cents to 6 cents this coming March 5. I asked a friend on powershop too and apparently he's already been lowered to 5 cents.

I know that this trend will continue but for now does anyone have any recommendations for another electricity provider with a decent FiT? And possibly a referral deal too.

For reference I've got a 10kW inverter in my house so generate quite a good amount of electricity. Located in Wyoming in the Central Coast, NSW. TIA

On same boat I am looking at simply energy still offering 12c fit

    • Signed up with Simply Energy using this referral link.

12c/kWh FIT, 21% off reference price (using the free MyNRMA deal), $200 sign-up credit and $50 gift card.

Significantly lower daily rates too than Powershop. Happy days.

      • Went to do this and they told me they don't have the license for my distributor so they can't help me lol

        • I'm guessing you're not with Ausgrid?

On the same boat too. I regret purchasing their advance powerpacks (till May or June); I suppose they're forfeit if I transfer away?

    • Also in the same boat with the same question about future powerpacks ($150 worth)
I'd like to think they'd be refunded

I got them to refund the future Powerpacks via the messaging platform. Seems this is a necessary step as the refund otherwise is not automatically applied (based on their refund policy).

I’m basically in the same position here, decided to switch to Red Energy. Shopback has $109 cashback right now. Their Living Energy plan had the best daily supply charge and anytime rate I could find. 7c/kwh FIT but we charge a EVs during the day so not exporting vast amounts anyway.

    • Better getting their red plan which gives you 10k Qantas points when signing up as well as regular payments.

Rates are a lot higher on that plan though eg. daily service charge $1.21 vs $0.75

        • For my postcode, the daily supply charge are the same for both plans.

    • Thanks I moved to Red Energy as well using the shopback cashback.

I hope Powershop loose a lot of customers, since I joined last year they have changed twice their price and of course not for the best.

  • I looked into OVOs EV Plan, however they insisted on putting me on the demand tariff.
Although the 3hr free in the ev plan was no benefit for me as id be using my own solar at that time of day … the 6c at night was a bit of a sweetener to have the AC on more over night.
Regardless of me saying my current meter configuration was a TOU, they insisted it was demand and told me i could not change it. It was demand on nothing. Anyway - no go with them. I guess they appear to be a bargain on one hand, however recoup that bargain by gouging with the other hand.

Decided to go with Simply NRMA solar for their 12c feed in, and the $200 sign on. The rates pre-7% discount were comparable to our current PowerShop so id be no worse off.

This will be the end of PowerShop, they are so far from being competitive now i can't see them surviving without a massive change.

    • Thats strange, Simply Energy told me they cant supply to mine as I have demand charge.
