  • Super find! There has been so few discounts for the past year for this flagship Samsung soundbar system, would be surprised if that deal lasts for long or they run out of stock :)

    • +1

Is this sarcasm, marketing or A.I. It's been on special just about every two weeks.

  • +5

    delivery throughout whole Australia

    No shipping to:
QLD Far North, QLD Regional, QLD South East, SA Regional, VIC Regional, WA Regional, WA Remote, Tasmania.

    • +1

      Thanks. Updated in the post.

      • Also doesn't ship to the NT

    • -1

LOL - 'Qld Regional' basically means anywhere outside of the Brisbane or Gold Coast metro areas. Total joke.

      • +6

        Isn't that accurate though…?

I can't think of anywhere else in QLD I'd consider metro as such.

        • +1

I would expect anyone in Ipswich, Beenleigh, Caboolture, the entire Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba, etc, would not see themselves as 'regional'. Places like Rockhampton, Mackay, Townsville, Cairns, and such may be 'regional' in terms of distance from Brisbane, but they're hardly the ends of the Earth and are still well covered by all delivery services.

    • Funny this, I ordered Sunday night, QLD SE and it arrived 9am this morning :) … distribution center it came from is like 10 mins from my home so they obviously have the stock and capability to deliver in QLD regions. Ebay system processed the order with my QLD SE address! Maybe I was lucky.

  • +1

Great price! I have last years model and it's amazing.

  • +4

Bought one in the last deal.

Highly recommend. Download the Smart Things app to assist with set up. You will want to tweak the settings a bit for your room and maybe push more sound from the rear speakers as they are quieter by default.

If you have a newer Samsung TV you should be able to make use of Q Symphony which I think does make a difference.

I had an interesting issue when watching a show in Netflix, there was a bit of lag in audio when watching Dolby atmos content, this disappeared when I selected 5.1. I think it's more of an issue with the TV Netflix app though than the sound bar. You can always adjust audio delay I guess.

    • I think we had the same lag issue the other day. Both Netflix and Disney+. Leaving the movie and then click continue watching seemed the only way to fix it.
      S95C and Q990C.

    • How do you push more sound from rear speakers?

  • So am i reading it correctly that it will only push out wireless sound with a Samsung TV?

    • +1

The soundbar has to be plugged in, but the other units connect wirelessly to the soundbar, so the TV doesn't matter (except for one specific sound setting that was made to work with Samsung TVs but that is basically irrelevant as the sound quality is great for the price - ours is plugged into an LG TV).

    • +3

I've got last year's model (Q990B) and a Sony XR90J TV. Can confirm they're wireless regardless of TV type. If you want Q Symphony, you'll need a newer Samsung TV that supports it. Otherwise, if you're looking for a good sound system that's wireless, I highly recommend this. Although like I said, I don't have this specific version, I've got last year's model.

  • Grabbed one of these last month. Very happy with it so far.

  • I think i got q950. Wish it had front facing display.

  • Got one last time around. Found that the soundbars is rather heavy and by itself has no bass without the subwoofer connected, unlike the Sonos Arc which had pretty decent bass on its own.

    • +14

by itself has no bass without the subwoofer connected

For system that designed to have dedicated sub, this is a good thing!

    • +1

Heavy is good. It's got 11 speakers (guess) in that main soundbar.

      • *correction - 15 speakers in the soundbar alone!

    • +1

the sonos arc is designed to be used by itself. This is designed with a crossover where it focuses the soundbar on only the frequencies it can do without distorting significantly. Should result in improved clarity compared to the arc

  • Got one of these on the last discount for $960. Delivered within a few days and it sounds really good.

  • Can I choose not to connect up the satellites? I don't have space right now, but might in the future?

    • +3

Yes it all runs wirelessly via Bluetooth, so can just not plug in the satellites or sub and the main bar will function just fine without them (but I do recommend at least having the sub connected)
It sounds just fine without the rear speakers

    • +4

There is actually a setting in the smartthings application where you can configure the rears to run as fronts, which is perfect for your use case?

      • +1

Ah nice, I might do that then, I should have space to put them next to my TV

    • +3

You can setup the rear speakers as fronts, very subtle left and right channels. If your current room is small the soundbar may sound harsh (you can tweak settings in the app and try room tune). I find the satellite speakers, when used as fronts, sound better at least 1m away from the soundbar though your room acoustic setup will have an impact here.

  • +3

Fantastic set of speakers. Bought these in the last sale to try and ended up selling my Sonos ARC and Sonos Sub. These sound better

  • +1

    I have an older model.

    These are awesome.

  • Any reason I should buy this when a q930c (on discount) would already be more than loud enough?

    • +2

q990c has better sound quality eg. closer to the true sound delivered by the program.

So if saving $250~$300 will make a big difference that's what the decision ultimately comes down to.

  • Wutttt already sold out????

    • nope, try again.. fails first time but payment goes through on second attempt…

edit: my bad, looks OOS now..

      • Am seeing:(

This item is out of stock.
Out of stock / 157 sold

        • keep an eye, my friend ordered one and cancelled it.. that might pop up.

  • +1

Yep would've pulled the trigger this time or last time but alas doesn't ship to north coast tassie. Ah well.

  • Thanks, got one.
    any recommendations for speaker stands?

    • +3

      I bought these

Very basic but cheap and does the job. Cable runs internal which is nice. You'll need to have an extension cable/power board nearby though as you're only left with about 30 cm of cable at the end with the speakers at max height. Lightweight but seem pretty stable.

      • I got those too, work great, dunno what other features would need or how they are cheap. Besides style or design what else is there, it is a stand and hides the wires well.

      • Yup I also have these. Works fine. A bit wobbly if using on tiles.

      • pretty expensive (costs almost my 5.1 system) :/ are there any cheaper ones for rear speakers? currently I have kept them on the couch

  • +4

Back in stock just spoke to the Store Rep! Get in quick!

    • Thanks got one

      • Thanks! Got one too!

  • back in stock again, if anyone misses this deal, you could get if from JB price beat and with 5% off gift cards comes to $1012

    • Is there any guarantee JB will match that price? I thought it was up to sales persons discretion?

  • Still not sure if I should spend $1k on a soundbar.

    • +2

Really elevates the TV experience though. The missus said it was like being in a cinema.

  • Love my TV Shows and Movies. Currently have two Audio Engine a5+ and the Subwoofer as the sound for the Hisense TV. https://www.audioengine.com.au/products/p/a5-classic

Worth the upgrade for the sound quality/movie experience?

  • -4

Advertising a soundbar as being 11.1.4 audio is hilarious. You would surely need the ideal room setup to get the required bounce off.

  • +1

    Back in stock again!

  • Thanks

  • +3

If it runs out again, worth trying to price match with Binglee, they have a 120$ gift card for purchases over 1000$ running this weekend, would overall work out better than this deal if you are looking to buy something else off Binglee.

  • Was OOS earlier but got one at around 3:15ish AEST.
    Thanks OP!

  • +1

    Restocked. I grabbed one.

  • Was going to get the q800c but it's only couple hundred more for this one so pulled the trigger. Now to wait for s95c to go back under $2400 for the 65inch

  • Item does not post to you.

    I’m in Canberra, why why why ? ? ?

  • Can I be your second inlaws.

  • I just bought the q800c for $780 @ jbhifi on pricematch from appliances online, didn’t really want the satellite speakers anyway though.

  • Anyone have experience using this with a gaming console? Any issues?

  • thanks. was eyeing this all day yesterday watching it go out of stock with my jbhifi price match… glad i held off for the extra $100 febsave.

dealing with the default sound of my LG G3 the last 9months or so has been a struggle… inbuilt tv sound is atrocious. was holding off for sonos arc update cause id prefer multiroom audio, but who knows when that'll happen and these seem to get people raving.

  • Thanks op, been eyeing for a while. Down to $948.74 with Zip Pay!

    This or edifier s360db?

    • How much money you want to spend? Lol.

Google says this is twice the price.

      • Well if i spend half and get the similar quality then it is the ozbargain way.

        • I see people are comparing these to logitech PC speakers.

Were you intending to use this with PC or TV?

Probably won't be anywhere near the performance of the Q990c for TV use (since you sit further away).

          • @Circly: For TV. Edifier s360db is a bookshelf speakers and it is miles ahead of logitech. I am not sure whether this Q990c is worth the investment compared to s360db.

  • OOS again :(

    • 1 more left in stock I just bought one.

    • Keep trying…OOS for a while yesterday then randomly got one. Already saying shipped.

      • Yeah I was refreshing this morning and they added another. Just snagged it.

  • Ordered Friday @ 4.21pm SA time, delivered 8.45am this morning. Cheers!

  • Price updated to $997 with promo code.

  • This is OOS now

  • There is one available ATM if anyone is interested.

  • Ordered one & got delivered in a few days.

The box and unit itself are Q990c but my top layer foam has 'HW-Q990B' word on it.

I wonder those who have received it has the same?

    • Good eye. My foam also has the 990b stamp. Maybe its just reused as they're the same size.

What are we tinfoil hat-ing? My pitchfork is ready! 😁

p.s. have been using my 990c for awhile, it slaps when you setup the correct codecs

Got TGG to price-match and they agreed. Then using TCN Him (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/833242) for an additional 10% off bringing the price down to $890.10. Best day of my life!

By the way, TGG ebay (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/145054615092) is also offering this at $1100 with the $100 ebay coupon bringing it down to $1000. If TGG store refuse to price-match Appliances Online ebay, then show the store of their own TGG Ebay store. They may obliged with this and then use the TCN Him to pay which would effectivey bring it down to $900.

$959 now and 5 avail if anyone still wanting one.

    • and now down to $941

      • Are you still able to apply the FEBSAVE code? Looks like this might be over.

        • Looks to still be available

  • Has anyone else purchased this soundbar and had major issues with connecting the soundbar via the Samsung SmartThings app via iPhone? I have being trying to get this to connect overnight and am having zero luck and seeing other peoples experiences trying to set it up via the app?

    • Android here and no issues for me.

From memory I scanned a QR code and managed to get it connected. I think I had to try a couple times.

Have you got it working yet?

      • Eventually got it working after several hours spent on the phone with the Samsung technical team to no avail. Found the solution to mine from this reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Soundbars/comments/18elth7/samsung_…

Essentially I had to set up a 2.4 gHz guest network on my ASUS router and then used that as a dedicated band for the soundbar to connect to which solved the issue for me. All I wanted to do was enable the voice enhancement option for the soundbar but god was it painful the hours wasted just to be able to toggle on one simple option.

        • That sucks and is annoying. Good to finally get there though.

I didn't have that issue, funnily enough I turned all those options off.

I do have Q symphony on as well as space fit. I also changed the sound levels to boost up volume from the rears.

        • A bit late to the party, but you can toggle the voice enhancement with the remote. Although it’s easier with the app.

  • Bummed to have missed out on this deal, does anyone have any idea if this would be repeated again given q990d has released?

    • I'm sure it will as there is still stock.

  • Hi… Can someone please confirm that Q990C supports the Chromecast in Australia? Thanks…. Looks like its not supported in UK.

Price has increased everywhere. Lets hope this comes down again.

Anyone knows when the 990D is available at the retail stores?
