  • Coupon code not working for U6 Lite

Never mind, I can’t read. Gotta sign up to be a member.

    Ordered! Thanks!

Would love the UDM-SE.. but waiting for the ~$750 price, but I fear it'll be EOL before that day comes.

  • UDM SE is 883.15 not 833.15.

    • I’m a long term lurker but just signed up to comment that wireless1 should adhere to the $833.15 so I can purchase my home set up

      • Same! Keen for $833. What's the deal?

        • @Wireless1

      • So expensive for only Gigabit switch built in no? Admittedly I lack the knowledge in this area but at some point I want to do a big overhaul of my home network. I'm not a total newb, run my own server and stuff. But say what would be the benefit of something like this as opposed to a OPNsense which you could definitely rig up with 10Gbe at almost half the cost?

2.5gbe is the norm these days, unless you’re running a datacentre. Even that is overboard for most prosumers and homelabs.

The hardware is decent, but people mainly like UniFi because of the ecosystem and software platform. It’s a premium that pays quickly.

I run my own VM machine using proxmox for a bunch of LXCs for different servers and services but I use unifi gear. The simple reason is it works without fuss. Just because I can cobble together a faster cheaper system with a bunch of different hardware and open source software doesn't meant I want to spend a day every month running updates and fixings incompatibilities or shopping around for new hardware / specialised hardware (outdoor APs and PTP links are the main ones). If I just pay the bit extra and get unifi stuff it will be quick to set up and basically hands off for years after that.

        • then do that then

its like saying you can buy a toyota vs a ferrari

          two different things really

people pay for the ecosystem, features and ease of use. Not everyone will be game enough to setup a machine with opensense, ccr etc

          • @lltravel: Yeah I was doing some research today, seems like it's primarily ease of use. Which is pretty huge in the grand scheme of things.

I was considering getting the dream router, but the WAN is capped at 700mbps which just blows my mind for a $500 router. Ease of use seems really nice, but looks like the UDM pro is where it's at for ideal hardware. Honestly kinda sucks I'll be forced to buy a Chinese box because I don't want to install a server rack.

            • @Castcore: look at getting a mikrotik

best routers and bang for buck

you can probably run an isp on a $80 router, the only bottle neck would be your cpu and ram on the actual box
You can get the software and put it into a vm and you have the best router money can buy

  • been waiting for these Unifi 8 Port 10Gb Aggregation switches to hover around $400. nice

  • U7s aren’t due to the end of May - that’s not fantastic

    • March on some seller's sites

      • $379 on those other sellers too, so $20 more. But supposedly 2 months less waiting.

  • Isn’t there a Udm-se update coming? Udm se pro max or something apple-sounding

  • Code UNI15 isn't working for me

    • +3

      Hi,

'UNI15' is for member and working on U6-lite and UDM-SE, please signup for free.

Can someone clarify the U6-lite and U6+ for me? I know the U6+ is kind of a succession to the U6-lite but why is it (typically) cheaper than the U6-Lite even though it has (modestly) better specs and is 'newer'?

  • +4

@Wireless1 do you have a back order time for the Unifi Express (UX)??

  • Thanks OP, bought UDM-SE and U7 Pro.

  • FWIW Also adds in "Shipping Insurance" so the UDM-SE comes to $907.04 shipped with $23.89 insurance.

  • Perfect timing OP, had been shopping around for a UDM-SE, grabbed one!

  • if only the g3 flex cameras ever went on sale

  • That U7 Pro looks tempting to upgrade from my 802.11ac AP-AC-PRO… Any chance they will get shipped before end of May?

  • +1

Oh crap, I ordered UDR last week although still on Backorder. Just taking chances but is it possible to ask them to apply the 10% discount on my existing order or should I take the riskier option of double ordering and ask them to cancel the first one?

    Hi @wireless1,

Is there anyway to use the Uni15 and Uni10 codes in one transaction? Looking to get a UDM-SE and Some U6 Plus's.

  • +1

Can anyone comment on how quick or slow wireless1 are at shipping “in stock with supplier”?

Do they drop ship or wait for stock to arrive?

    • I ordered a USW Aggregation from this sale that was 'in stock at supplier', and received it one week later drop-shipped from 'LCS Computers'.

      • I ordered on 18/02 and my order included items 'in stock at supplier'. It arrived today, so it took 10 days all up (it came from QLD)

  • Damn, just missed the boat, was hoping to grab the UniFi U6-Lite AP.

Any idea when the next sale might come along?

  • +1

Looking to buy 2 U6-lite APs. Please could someone recommend me if it would be best value to get a PoE switch or just buy two PoE injectors.

Please could you also suggest compatible PoE switch.
