  80% cotton - which means once your feet sweat they're stay pretty damp. Ok for light use but I'd search for either a wool blend or something with a higher synthetic % to wick the moisture away from your feet.

    A dermatologist told me many years ago to wear socks with a high cotton %. Solved the skin issues I was having.

      I'm glad it worked for you - but that sounds quite a specific matter. Cotton is great in items, but if you're doing heavy labour it's less than optimal in socks as it tends to retain moisture.

      I bushwalk a lot, multiday stuff and cotton in your socks is a big no-no. Heavy labour is not dissimilar, in that you';re likely going to get a lot of physical exertion & thus sweat.

      I've not voted either way on the deal - I just posted as I used to think cotton socks must be great for workouts etc - and in fact this is generally quite untrue.

  I'm literally wearing a pair of these right now.

  I don't have the same problem others have mentioned with the elastic. They get a little looser over time, but all socks do, they're still tight enough and they still stay up. These are some of my best socks, and surprisingly after 4 years of wear they don't have any holes at the big toe like all my other brands of socks do.

    I agree I use these and they always stay up and last for a long time. I have got the odd hole in big toe but I'm slack cutting my nails.
