  • Do we need to book?

    • wondering too

      • +3

Booking is for groups of 6 and above

        • So walk ins only for less than 6? What are the chances of getting a walk in table this Sat night?

          • +5

@mem17: Would've said your chances were high until it got posted on here šŸ˜‚ but the good thing is that it's open till 1am

          • +1

@mem17: A lot of other full price $50+ places already have lengthy queues I wouldn't bother waiting an hour for … I wouldn't rate it a good chance getting a table Sat night … by Sun morning maybe :P

        • Is there a website or phone number for bookings?

          • @apm2011: Go to their instagram. Iā€™ve tagged their instagram handle in my Reel the link above.

  • is there one in Sydney??

  • Non-sticky plates not as good as cast iron or stainless steel mesh plates. This is basically pan fry on the table.

    • +9

      Itā€™s stone grill

  • +1

    surcharge on weekendļ¼Ÿ

    • +1

I do not pay surcharge if it's not clearly stated at the entrance or on the menu.

  • +2

    Anything Halal?

    • +4

Called them earlier today, not halal.

Theres halal options at Seoul Garden in Docklands, though you will need to pay $49.90

  • Hey @kimliew, tried messaging you guys via IG to make a booking for 7 people this Thursday but nobody is replying. Are you able to assist?

    • Hey Iā€™m not associated with the restaurant. I donā€™t know why Iā€™m tagged as associated. Iā€™m just posting as a customer who went yesterday.

      • You've linked your Instagram in the post thus… it says:

Associated kimliew @ kimmyyliew on Instagram

        • ahhh thanks. First time posting. Not sure how this works

      • +5

"you are posting as a customer"

You forgot to say you were invited to the restaurant as well per your own IG post "Thanks @liva.media.pr for the invite!"

This doesn't sound like a genuine post

      • +4

Why have you not spruiked all the other restaurants here that you've reviewed then? Definitely sounds like one of those influencer posts where a free meal = gratis exposure.

        • -3

@chk not associated with restaurant because Iā€™m invited by agency. Also if I wanted to lie I wouldnā€™t transparently make a statement that I was invited. Itā€™s just $25 go try it for yourself before saying itā€™s not genuine? Your mouth is different to mine, I canā€™t taste it for you. I genuinely enjoyed it and think the $25 is so worth it. Also if I have any invites that are not up to par I refuse to post them and will let the business/agency know.

@GrandMaster did not post other restaurants here on OzBargain because theyā€™re not a promotion but rather a review. This is different because itā€™s a DEAL. 50% off AYCE how can I gatekeep this.

          • +6

@kimliew: all word games, not associated but invited by agency to the restaurant.

I was going to go but not anymore, here's a tip for the restaurant, invest in quality food, the reviews haven't been great, rather than influencers who play word games

            • -4

@chk: Taste is subjective. Your mouth is different to mine. If today someone, not an influencer tells you the blueberries are delicious youā€™d be keen to try and believe, but when an influencer tells you the same you choose to believe otherwise? No games and words just you tangled up in your own false judgements @chk šŸ˜‚

              • +1

@kimliew: Thanks to you I'll leave a review as well

Good you don't deny being associated with them now

  • Was the restaurant where used to be a Japanese buffet (Tokyo Japanese restaurant)?

    • -1

Yeah Kuma Japanese or something. Shut down because it wasnā€™t great.

      • Careful 2.5 stars isn't so great either

        • Itā€™s 2.5 stars on Google if you read properly people are complaining about people cutting the queue. Probably out of ignorance not knowing people had bookings. Food was honestly not bad. Not premium quality for sure. But will be worth your $25 or even $49

          • +2

@kimliew: noticed we were copying and pasting comments.
If you also read the reviews some of them comment on the quality and other flaws.

"The meat quality wasnt good, you couldnt taste any taste of the meat. The hot food, either too salty or not cooked as how the koreans cook.

"Do not waste your time and money unless you want to experience one of the worst Korean BBQs in ur whole life."

"Entry guys randomly lets line cutters in without checking while the rest of the line doesn't move. As today is soft opening , there is no booking and there is only walk in."

"The staff was racist and were letting Korean line cutters into the restaurant, the actual line did not move as a result. The same people were stuck in the line for over an hour plus.

Once we got in the food was honestly pretty bad. "

            • -1

@Ruke: why would you ever wait a hour and a half for a restuarant in melbourne puzzles me. Its not as if there arent 1000 other decent ones

          • +4

@kimliew: The sockpuppeting is real here

            • @Baebs: @Baebs itā€™s just $25 go try it for yourself before you judge. At least Iā€™ve tried. I donā€™t sit here and type without giving it a go.

  • Great price…

    • Only for two weeks!

  • What are the veggie options like? My partner is veggie :)

    • +1

What type of vegetable? No judgement here, love is love.

    • So many mushrooms and vegetables. Sushi have vegetarian options too!

  • +9

Damn 2.5 stars on google reviews…. seems like a pass for me on this one

    • Reviews certainly looking rough, was actually keen to try - worthwhile gamble at $25

    • +1

        • I personally find that for the price $25, the food is reasonable. Unless these people are paying $25 expecting your usual Korean BBQ which will cost easily $80pp with decent Wagyu cuts.

Again itā€™s just $25. Worth the try. Everyoneā€™s mouth is different. Judge it for yourself. I didnā€™t think it was fine dining amazing, or so bad I had to leave a one star review or spit the food out.

  • How to book?

    • Go to their instagram. They have the details there

  • +3

The most brutal comment imo has to be this one by an actual Korean - "Is this seriously Korean style BBQ!!?????????

If you are Korean, plz do not go there, just cook at home and eat.

Do not waste your time and money unless you want to experience one of the worst Korean BBQs in ur whole life.

Highly appreciated with their service only."

    • +9

I dunno whatā€™s going on here, but itā€™s curious how OP claims no association but continues to spruik this place, at the same time the google reviews are curious too.

The two one star reviews are from a J Li, and a Lee J, -read it out loud-, at the same time and both seem like new accounts as their other reviews are all done at the same time too.
It seems suspiciously like someone else is out there to drag them down before they start.

    • How do we know this "brutal comment"guy is NOT on the competitor side?

      • Iā€™m not associated I swear. I genuinely felt $25 was worth it for what I had the other day. Also again, itā€™s just $25 bucks. Nobody is going to go broke trying it even if it doesnā€™t meet their high standards after trying it.

  • +2

I thought this would've been a great family outing this weekend, even with the long wait, but now I'm not so sure.
Between the reviews, influencer-style posting here, and some presumed business practices, even at 50% off I don't think this is worth the gamble. Sorry, it's a no for me.

    • -5

Your call mate. Just $25. Iā€™m posting here because itā€™s a good deal for what I ate that day. There was no requirement for me to post here.

      • +1

Thanks for your response, and volunteering to share this deal. But the latest post from Cartmanizm cements my sentiment.
Wishing you a great day ahead.

      • Lets be real, this is you spruiking the location for something in return.

  • +1

    pretty bad google reviews though.

  • You need to advertise you only seat 4+ people for walk ins.

First comment on the IG post might be worth to mention.

  • Is this a similar setup to Suki Teenoi in Thailand?
It's a long wait to get to your table but once you are there it's delicious (and only costs about AUD$15)
Great place to catch up with friends.

  • +10

I am eating here now. This is undoubtedly the WORST buffet I've ever had. The quality is shockingly bad, meat grade is horrible, cooked food is bland and somehow even the watermelon tastes like it's not fresh.

Please, do yourself a favour, pay $50 and go to SSAM instead, the quality is there.

    • +1

OPs credibility shot on first post….

    • What type of meats were there? Was there wagyu??

  • +1

tried lining up yesterday. got turned away around 6pm, saying they are sold out. Ended up going elsewhere for kbbq buffet.

    • Where?

  • Looks like a knock-off kbqq run by Chinese or sth. Eww

  • +2

Got turn away at 5:40pm. Waste of time.

    • Their website had Friday and Saturday opening 5.30PM until 1AM.

I walked past the restaurant around 8.30PM last night to see how long the queue might be to find their door lock shut and the number 1 changed to 8 with the AM still there.

A restaurant that opens for 2.5 hours a day? Good luck to whoever own this business.

  • +2

    Actual waste of time

  • +2

Had some people waiting for 2-3 hours at the front of the line today got turned away cos the session was full, the waiter just took people that had groups of 6 or more in first and shafted everyone else that waited in smaller groups even if they waited 2-3 hours before opening time, the people in smaller groups even if they were in front all had to be put in a queue with another 120-150 minutes or so wait time for the next session. actually horrendous behaviour. If I was at the front waiting 2 hours then told I had to wait another two cos I didnā€™t come in a group of 6 Iā€™d be shocked at the treatment. Definitely not first come first served, do not waste your time at this place

    • Even assuming the people waiting made the lowest $30/hr wage, waiting for 2 hrs is the equivalent of $60 of their time. If they have to wait another 2 hrs, that's $120 of lost opp cost. It's even worse on higher incomess. They'd have to be stupid to accept that.

      • yep, case study on how NOT to do a promotion, 3 star rating for a restaurant that just opened with half price promo is shocking
