  • That auto dress watch looks alright, I like the green dial.
I don't tend to wear dress watches but would do somebody I'm sure.

I also saw the Orient Bambino SAC00005W0 Amazon Japan via AU for around the same price.

    • Nice price, I'm patiently waiting for V7 to drop down the low $200 range

Good choice, I may add that to my list, what are the chances of sub $200 anytime in the next year?
I think 38mm would be the best, at least on my wrist. They are a pretty simple and clean dial so no need to be huge.
The black version is $20 more, i like the improved legibility, probably not as dressy though.

        ps. Black ORIENT Bambino SAC00004B0 40.5mm also $229 https://www.amazon.com.au/Automatic-Overseas-manufacturer-gu…

Good choice, I may add that to my list, what's a good price?

I don't think they've ever gotten as low in price as the 40.5mm models because they're newer models (although they're nearly 2 years old now).

According to camel3x, the lowest this listing has ever reached is $342.83.

I think 38mm would be the best, at least on my wrist.

IMO the 38mm one looks objectively better than the 40.5mm one, on any wrist. With dressy styles I feel like the bezel:dial ratio looks wrong when you get to 40mm+

          • @beltdrive: I'd probably bite if it were around $300 then. May be waiting forever for $200 if the larger models are still over that.

Agreed, 38mm looks great. Would be hard to decide between black and white, suppose white is the more popular model but I only try and buy watches that are easily legible in general. Any closer to $400 and may as well get a Komasu, which would see considerably more wear (personally).

            • @G-rig: The Kamasu is probably my favourite Orient, I just don't need another diver

              • @beltdrive: Yeah it's one I've always liked, not too many faults but very competitive in the $400-500 category for divers.
I think I have enough as well and the Komasu is harder to get cheap in AUS these days. Still a bit on the dressy side to be a beater as well (got a titanium Citizen ny0100-50m which is good for that). Am trying to diversify the collection too, but divers are my favourite to be honest).

                  green highlight shown on bezel

                  • @pissedpoor: Yeah ordered it, I think the price is pretty good for that dial and sapphire.
Would probably upgrade the end links to solid, and clasp to milled.
I imagine I'm not the first one to want to do this, so will search around.
I would also like a bigger crown, that one always looked undersized with a large gap, it is signed though.. hmm.

                    Cheers,

@G-rig: the bracelets from this one and the racing Seiko arrived yesterday are crappy standard from their stock just different branding on clasps. i already swapped to Nato green (Kamasu) and sky blue/orange matching the Seiko accents

both Seikos received have drilled lugs

                      • @pissedpoor: Yeah no doubt would be an uncle strap or something from AliExpress to replace the whole bracelet.

I checked out Jody's video on those Seiko 5 Sports SSK025K - shame they look too thick with the supplied double pass nato.
I'd end up getting/cutting a cheaper single pass one for that, or a two-piece.

                        • @G-rig: that's why i did not choose it even the numerals were green and PVD case

just a waste of the strap that doesn't fit anything

                          • @pissedpoor: yeah mate it's a waste paying for that nice strap but good to keep when selling.
They should have offered it on a black PVD bracelet I guess.

I find that natos have to be less than ~1mm or the watch sits up too high and doesn't look right.
Can get aftermarket ones cheap enough from Ali etc.
