    $69

    nice

I got one in December for closer to $50. Sounds surprisingly good for a tiny speaker with pretty good bass. Not super low of course and a bit "boomy" (certain bass frequencies hit harder than others) but still nice for a tiny portable.

I might be imagining it but installing the Android app and using the LDAC codec increased the quality a lot. Not sure if you can do the same with iOS/Windows.

down to wonderboom 3 sale prices now.

sony has an app while wonderboom 3 doesn't.

design is totally different. sony has a bigger single driver but it's facing up, if you wanted to have the speaker facing you it would probably roll away.

    • +2

Wonderboom is Micro USB, this is USB-C.

  • Has SD card slot for direct play without connecting to mobile?

    • It wouldn't be waterproof if it did…

      • Mobile phones can do it. No reason why portable speakers cannot. Just saying.

        • +1

Mobile phone with sd card is not waterproof.

          • @ndoan: Blackview BV5200 Pro is waving. Ip rating IP69K.

          • @ndoan: S10e sending SD card library over Bluetooth from the bottom of the wading pool (just checking in after your comment)

      • yeah actually im happy with non waterproof but decent sound, affordable, and has sdcard for easy enough for older people to play/control directly. i just supply them new songs every month or so into sdcard they can play skip stop etc etc direct without fiddling with mobile phones

    • nope. sony website spec says "input/output: USB-C". that's it. no aux either.

    • Just got Officeworks to price beat this!

Good on you! I tried two OW stores and both refused - one said members' only prices are against their price match policy, and the other said they can't match clearance stock.

        • You are correct. Washing is either lucky or pulling your leg.

          • +1

@bargain ben: it works sometimes apparently. users also managed to price match costco.

not sure what else they mention to OW, but I think it might have to do with the fact you can pay for a year of costco and cancel anytime before 6 months or something and get a full refund on the membership by claiming you didn't get any value out of it. (make sure you read T&C's before trying this it might have changed)

          • +1

@bargain ben: Maybe I got lucky. Was OW Richmond Vic. They checked I was a club member and model/colour was same

  • Goes ok for sound in my opinion, placed about 2 meters from me volume on high, Battery lasts about 4 hours whilst listening via bluetooth.

  • Good enough for WFH setup, zoom team meeting? The microfone and noice reduction

    • Yes, the microphone is pretty good. Apparently it's one of the bigger upgrades from the previous version. It will still have the regular bluetooth latency but that's usually fine

      • SRSXB100 is the previous version?

        • No, the XB13 was the previous version (I think). I assume the "H" at the end is just a code for the colour.

        • no XB100 is the new version of XB13.
btw old one is USB-C only as well. no tf card no aux just thought you would like to know.

  • The SRSXB100 is $54.60 at SCA.

    • Only with a Membership. I'll update the OP.

  • I don't know why the title is SRSXB100H
    What is H means?

    • Guessing Hands free

On Sony site each colour has different letter.

    • fyi the last letter in model number usually has the least to do with differences.

      • I find the last letter is either color or an extra feature.

        Eg B for black

        Or

        W for wireless

  • I just bought one from Officeworks. Paid with my phone. As soon as I turned it on, my phone prompted me if I wanted to connect to it. It was already linked to my Gmail. Holy.
