92 points. Wine writer Ken Gargett: "A lovely, easy drinking style of Shiraz. The idea was to go easy on the components and make it a simple and delicious style, which is cracking value. They suggest that they have gone easy on the alcohol, but if 14.5% is easy, look out for the serious wines! That said, it is hardly apparent as the wine is neatly balanced. Bright garnet in colour, the nose offers delightful cassis notes, soy, chocolate, black fruits and licorice. Simple, but simply delicious, and yet further confirmation of what a stellar vintage this is. Good structure, seamless, generous and ripe. Now for four or five years. You could put a few cases of this in the cellar and you’ll have far less to whinge about than a Pommy cricketer."

Nose: The nose offers vibrant aromas of red cherries, plums, and raspberries with a hint of black pepper.

Palate: The palate is smooth and elegant with notes of cherries, plums, chocolate, and pepper, complemented by soft tannins on the lingering finish.

Cellaring: Drink now to 2029

Vegan. Screwcap.

Winemaker: Bec Hardy

Vivino is handy, use it to scan the bottle & get an aggregated rating. It's not Halliday's, but it's better than nothing, and better than false info from some bought & paid "reviewer" ie Sam Kim. In the past it's convinced me to try new winemakers I wouldn't have, with good results.

Hi @TheJudge Certainly concur regarding Vivino, though I'm not a user myself.
Re Halliday, Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast, Sam Kim, Huon Hooke et al, they are all commercial entities, it's just their method of remuneration or business model is different. Halliday's revenue is derived from sales of the book, magazine and memberships paid for by wineries who wish to use his ratings. Similarly Huon Hooke. Sam Kim like a number of other reviewers are remunerated by wineries directly. Some taste blind, others know what they are tasting. The most important aspects are transparency and disclosure. Cheers! RD :-)

  • Anything in a lighter red at this or similar price point in the Bec Hardy or other ranges?

    • Hi @PB IMHO this is porbably more in the lighter style of shiraz. As for lighter wines, not at this price point at the moment. Cheers! RD :-)

Bought a few bottles of these from your last deal. They are VERY easy to drink. For $8.80/bottle including shipping, it is a steal.

    • Thanks @Neil2016 - this will be the last of it I think at this stage. Not sure how much is left but unlikely to be another bottling of this one at this stage. Cheers! RD :-)

  • Do you ship to/Are you allowed to ship to parcel lockers?
