Caged Sandals $15 (Was $30) + Delivery ($0 with OnePass/ C&C/ in-Store) @ Kmart

180

Clearance item.

Good price. I had bought one at full price earlier this summer, which I am using regularly. So ordering one more at half price was a no brainer. My order via OnePass was delivered today.

Aldi will have a similar item on special this Wednesday for $19.99:

Hello Kmart. Do you still have these in stock?
    Yes we do.
    Yeah no wonder.

Just joking. How do you rate the comfort level on these?

    • 10/10 for comfort, but of course I wear socks with them!

Good old xinjian foot re-education prisons

    • Is this the more modern (but equally racially dubious) version of the 'Japanese Army Boots' quip??

I prefer the Aldi ones for comfort, but they will probably not last as long as the Kmart ones. The soles of my last Aldi one cracked after a while, but they were comfortable while they lasted.

The Kmart ones are sturdier, but they have a slightly rougher texture (it gets better after some use). Also, gravel seems to get in easily in these sandals, which is a bit annoying.

No stock near my area. My order was fulfilled by North Rocks Kmart.

    • Which Aldi model are you mentioning, the Grey from the main picture maybe as they look comfortable and light.

I like the look of the ones with blue too, they look more sturdy similar to these.

I had a pair similar to the black/blue ones.

The insole in those ones were different from the Kmart ones and did not hold up well. They might have changed the material this year.

When you've hit rock bottom and stopped caring what people say about your fashion choices.

      Function over Fashion.

If you judge people by their fashion choices rather than their character and behaviour, that's rock bottom.

      • Why not both?

        • Because then you would have to respect mannequins and scarecrows more than people.

      • 😂 that's so ugly

    • LMAO there's some pearlers on there.

Great for a first date, especially if worn with socks

  • My Dad will be happy. 😆

Uh oh, you'll be positively swatting the ladies away when you step out in these bad boys…

    • +1

Are you saying the ladies prefer to see a man's big toes poking out?

I don't get the comments. It makes sense to combine the ruggedness and protection of sneakers with the cooling benefit of sandals. Socks are not worn with these, they're just a rugged sandal. Good for driving, or whenever you want more air circulation without wearing flip-flops. I wouldn't choose this colour, but there's nothing wrong with this shoe!

      • +1

I'll never purport to understanding what or how women think, but I do know my old man taught me that the first thing a woman usually looks at is a man's shoes, and judges him accordingly.

        • +2

your old man taught you about women? did you cross-check that intel with an actual woman?

even if what you say is true, there is nothing inherently unsightly or bad about this design of sandal! it's all in your head.

          • @cerealJay: You do you mate, taste is subjective after all. Wear these on your next date and report back how it goes…

    Good for cycling in?

    • Yes. Especially in a pedal cage.

  • +1

Would imagine these are suitable for casual cycling, especially mountain bike type stuff on hot days.

Had a pair (same black pair bought last Autum on clearance also for $15) for some months and really like this

design as not only like most sandles you don't need to wear socks, but these give good front toe protection for working

or hiking as well as a decent grippy sole too. Saw these last week in Kmart on clearance for $15 and also bought another lol.

    • +2

I use something like these when kayaking - can get out and walk around, don't mind if they get wet / muddy, etc. Don't even have to wear them the whole time, just slip them on when getting off.

  • Looks a better deal than keen sandals

    • Of course the Keen, Teva, Soleman, Merrel etc will all be better quality, and in my view if using a lot sometimes worth it

if you can find your size on special or on clearance. For most others these at $30-$35 are decent and on clearance for

      $15 a bargain.

      • +1

Keen webbing usually goes after a few years. As long as the soles have good grip for rocks I'm happy.

        • Yep, all Sandals and shoes seem to have a weak spot that wears first and sometimes pre maturely, especially if paying high price.
These for me have a solid grippy rubber sole, pretty sure you will be happy for $15.

You need to be 70 to wear these, and don’t forget your white socks

    • I would love to see Biden and Trump campaigning wearing these.

      • +1

        So would Nikki.

  • Anatoly style

  • Release the sandals
