If you don't need Windows 11 Pro, get the 16/512 $1249, upgrade SSD to 1TB for$49.

    • the original link looks like it's the 2.8k screen vs the 2.2k on your link. SSD and screen upgrade takes it to $1358, so a bit closer, but definitely a good option.

Yep, or you can get the 2.8k oled upgrade for $60 and save $100 from the window pro

      • The 1TB upgrade also selects the oled screen. Can only configure with that combination.

  • 780m option?

  • I've had two of these and neither had a working keyboard backlight, seems to be a common issue, good otherwise.

    • I had three of these last year (first was gen 7), 1 had motherboard replacement and all were eventually returned. Pretty similar issues each time, not waking from sleep, bluetooth/wifi/USB4 and bluescreens. Couldn't figure it out, my son has the gen 7 and it has been more or less fine. Bought a HP and no more problems. Lenovo often have great specs for the price, but with the amount of time and effort the setup, diagnosis (including windows resets and re-installation) and returns took I'm totally scarred by the experience.

  • Umm why would anyone need Windows Pro for normal use?

    • Hard drive encryption

      • Home encrypts your c: drive, it's just external (USB etc) you can't encrypt with bitlocker.

      remote desktop :D

  • bought one of these last week but didn't think to post as seemed an ok but not great deal - arriving today and wishing I'd waited to see the ozbargain thinktank discuss the good and bad of the machine.

  • Wait for the semi-regular Cashrewards 15% off Lenovo…

  • The Windows Pro Model is ready to ship. The Windows Home Model states "ships free within 2 weeks". however, this changes to "10 weeks" if change the HDD to 1TB.

  • does JB price matches this?

  • Costco has yoga 7 i7-1360p 16gb, t512gb ssd for sale at $1479.98
    Which is the better deal?

    • Ryzen beats i7, especially on battery life, but I owned a Yoga 7i i7 — briefly — and returned it because its fans whirred all the time even when sleeping, and three support calls to the Phillipines installing random drivers couldn't fix it.

If it's not a Thinkpad, steer clear of Lenovo.
