      • +8

Bought to give away, im negged for being a good person :O

      • +1

How do you think he lost his head?

  • No adjustable head and no removable battery. Looks to me simply a G3 with a screen, Bluetooth and USBC….

    • Definitely does have an adjustable head unless you mean something more specific.

      • Like G4 Pro the head can move to different angle.

If yo look at the design of this one, sure the head is not movable.

really don't see what this can provide over a $50-$100 no-name massage gun from temu/ali/ebay/amazon etc…not at 5-10x the cost anyway

    • +12

That’s because you havent tried both. I bought a $99 cheapo and upgraded to the elite, difference in power and amplitude is night and day
Cheapo doesn’t really do more than vibrate

Having said that, neither will really do the job of a massage in terms of pressure so can’t recommend at this price

      • +3

Yes exactly! I had a cheapy then upgraded to the Theragun. The $99 jobs are kids toys in comparison.

      • How much power do you need? I have a cheap one from amazon and never use full power unless i want to massage my cow.

        • +1

          Does the cow like it?

        • It’s more with how much consistent pressure you can apply. We have the Pro version (Gen 4) and use it daily for the last 3 years.

        • That's no way to talk about her.

    • I was curious too, and still am.
Most users reported that the top Theragun was a bit better and quieter but that’s about all I could find

    • +3

Because the cheapo ones basically vibrate and a decent gun applies tremendous force (i.e not just vibrate) . The difference is night and day.

You can buy a set of therapy bits for a jigsaw for very cheap.

  • +3

Same price as Amazon prime free 1 day shipping and JB Hifi and I’m sure other retailers too.

My 2c. I have an Ekrin Bantam massage gun, extremely well reviewed, supposedly a step above Amazon/Ali brands. It still just doesn't compare with my friends theraguns - must be the extra amplitude.

    • +1

Heads up - local retailers are doing the special but on old gen devices, Gen 4

If you’re happy to get Gen 4 then go Kogan at $329 (First). I might post it as a separate deal in the morning.

      • worth saving $120? whats the difference ?

        • +1

USB-C looks like the main difference

      • shit its gone, should of bought last night

  • +1

Um . How exactly can this be an upgrade? Apart from higher price

    • +7

      Higher Price = better
      Western thinking 👍

      • +1

        So is that not true?

  • +2

Can you get other attachments for these… thinking of for valentines and all?

    • +2

Just get a satisfier pro, thank me later

      • +1

Satisfyer 2 Pro is the goat

        • +1

still cant find the spot to place it on.

  • +1

gym has these they are good but a cheap aldi one does the same job.

  • From what I've seen, none of the claims about massage guns are proven. Most of the evidence suggests you do as well with pre- and post- excercise stretching. Search it up on YouTube - a couple of videos there go into the available studies on PubMed.

They're not magic, but from what I've experienced they do help a bit with recovery and loosening things up. It's a similar concept to foam rollers which have some scientific backing.

My Theragun Pro really helps my back when it gets tight, and using it either side of sport or a gym session (in addition to stretching and warming up) is a noticeable improvement over the days I haven't used it.

    • It's soft tissue massage.

Unfortunately people buy them thinking they're a cure not a recovery tool.

I used to think that massage guns were either fancy pleasure toys (some must be, right?) or just another recovery tool that doesn’t work. I tried some of the cheaper ones, which were less than $100, and could barely feel them on my muscles.

Then, I tried a friend’s Theragun Pro, and it was a world apart from the cheaper ones. It can actually work the muscles, even some of the deeper ones. I mainly use it on my legs and calves, both before and after running or riding, and it has made a massive difference. I have found the benefits to be similar to those of a sports massage, and it has really helped with recovery.

I believe Rebel Sport carries the Theragun lineup that you can try. They are pretty pricey, but in my opinion, they are worth it.

Also note don't use this as a pleasure toy, I'm more than certain it would be quite unpleasant…

  • Worth every penny. Had mine a year.
