i ordered this recently and didn't get a tub, it came in a single serve sachet (like the size of a KFC wet wipe)

    • -1

      But did it work?

      • +2

Works for me, about half a green pea per arm, effect lasts about 3 days

        • +5

Are you showering in those 3 days? Help me understand here.

          • +3

            @pufffdragon: That way lies madness.

          • +2

@pufffdragon: Yes. You still wash - just don't apply more deodorant over that time

          • +8

@pufffdragon: Well, this brings me 3 days closer to my annual shower. Better than nothing right. Only 362 days to go 😉

            • +3

@agravier: I shower every year, whether I need it or not

          • +1

@pufffdragon: apparently on their page it says last upto 7 days including showers , swimming and sweat , it won’t come off

        • +1

This works and i have been converted and got my firstvtub
The top of the tub dries out slightly and is less effective I think…

The sports deodorant stick is not as effective

      • +2

I have used this for over a year an half now. One of the normal sized tubs last me just over a year (replaced my first tub after 13 months, I had 5 sample packs before moving to the tub). I use a very small smidge under each arm and I am good for 6-7 days. Yes I have hair arm pits, but I do work in an office so the only time I really sweat is when exercising.

Overall I highly recommend this and to follow the guide on the website to see how to use it properly and how to transition from normal deodorants.

    • +2

You only use a very small amount for a few days, so the sample sachet is actually OK to try it out.

  • The full size of this lasts about 8 months for me too. I use a thin smidge - maybe half to 3/4 of a 5-cent piece.
For me, it sometimes works for 3 days, but sometimes it only works for one day.

  • Is this designed for women / men without armpit hair?

    • +2

Counts out 99.9% of Ozb crowd

    • +14

I have armpit hair you could lose a mouse in. It works well for me.

      • +1

        lol okay good to know

        • +3

          weird

        • +4

That's kind of not how bodies work.

      • +3

That explains who moved your cheese.

      • +1

What about one of my giant roof rats?

        • +1

omg yes i’ve got roof rats size of cats how the hell do u get rid of them ? been throwing up rat baits in the man hole but god

          • @TrustNoBody: That's called a possum

            • @zcream: unfortunately i wish it was possums but in my yard the dogs catch them and they also have dug the biggest holes in my side walk way ..

      • Ok .. I'm sold!

      • lose a mouse in haha

      • Is this some sort of new kink?

  • I've been after a more affordable (and natural) anti-perspirant with little to no scent. The "NIVEA Sensitive Protect Roll On" works well but doesn't last that long.
Thanks, I'm keen to give it a try.

Where do they sell the full size stuff?

    • I made the same change you're thinking of making just over a year ago. I wouldn't go back to the roll ons (any kind). You can get the tubs from their site. The tub comes in a box and when you open it the size of the tub itself looks disappointingly small, but I've found that for me it will last about 6-7 months. I've not seen it for sale in shops, but there may be places that stock it.

      • That's what I like to hear! Thanks.

      • +1

        cincotta chemist sell them

  • +3

Some positive reviews here. I will definitely consider buying the larger tub after the sample comes.

  • Sadly it didn't work for me.

    • In what way? It didn’t mask smell?

    • +3

Me neither :( They sent me SO many samples to try change my mind and I smelled bad for like 12 weeks straight and took twice daily showers before I was like I'M NOT DOING THIS ANYMORE

      • +8

I like the persistence in the face of repeated and overwhelming failure.

        • +2

I am not a smart woman.

Albeit I was adamant that my body would just "detoxify" itself from my regular industrial-strength antiperspirants at some point if I stuck it out long enough (like they suggested) and it would suddenly kick in and the angels would start singing and I would walk around all smug and superior to others, smelling like God's armpit, but alas, no such luck.

  • +17

They should hand these out on Western Sydney trains.

    • +4

omg yes i go on the bankstown line and the woman stink worst then men

  • +1

    great product

  • +3

Have used the free sample and each application generally lasts me 2-3 days which is pretty good! You still sweat, just no BO :) After the sample, I bought the roll on as it seemed easier to use and apply however is shorter acting than the original which is stated on the packaging (i think 1-2 day difference). Once I finish the roll on, I'd probably switch to the tub one. Thanks for listening to my TEDtalk

    • lasts me 2-3 days which is pretty good

Is this even after multiple showers?

      • yeah, still good after a shower, with scrubbing and the works of course!

        • Try not scrubbing the armpit. It's best to use a gentle body wash as scrubbing takes away the top layer of skin where the balance of bacteria is supported by the skin's acid-protective mantle. You should find you can last longer. Best way to find out is treat one side differently to the other.

  • +2

skip the cream sample, and just buy the roll-on. literally works for days. amazing stuff. Ill be using it forever.

  • +1

I can't recommend it enough. Bought the tub after trying the sample. It doesn't last 7 days ever for me, but a good 3-4 days with daily showering & moderate physical activity (swimming/walking).

Agree with the above comment too - when the tub arrived it seemed underwhelmingly small. Don't be fooled, though - it really lasts.

Thought this was going to be about Trevor Chappell’s bowling

  • +5

Unfortunately for me I had a reaction to it. Worked really well in terms of smell too and was happy with it but after a few days I developed an underarm rash. Stopped using and it went away. Thinking that maybe it was just coincidental because unable to find other people similar online I tried it again - unfortunately about 4-5 days in same thing happened.

So would recommend people use the test pack and if no reaction I rate it - but at least test pack means if you do have reaction don't lose purchasing a whole tub like I did.

    • Same here but it took a few weeks for the rash to show up. Never had underarm issues beforehand. My son had some issues with it as well. We both stopped using it and the issues went away.

  • -1

    Aluminium-free

    Shouldn't it cost less then?

  • +1

I've started applying vinegar straight out of the shower before applying any perfume. Helps kill the bacteria responsible for the smell. Works better than any other deodorant. And no my armpits do not smell like a salad bowl!

    • Would sanitizer or gin/vodka work too?

      • +2

That's a potent salad for sure

    • That is very acidic for your skin. Your messing with the acid protective layer and your skin's pH balance

  • How does the women’s scent compare to the sports one ozb?

  • +1

if it doesn't give me cancer I ain't wearing it

btw, people really shouldn't be concerned about the scent of deodorant. other people shouldn't be able to smell deodorant. if you want a scent, buy a fragrance

    • I asked as I prefer a non scented one! Some women’s deo is too florally and gross

      • +1

I use the sports deodorant and the missus uses the women's deodorant. I have used hers and noticed they smell the same with a very mild scent and both go to a nothing smell soon after application

        • +1

          Thanks for response

  • +1

Tried it a couple of years ago. Worked for about 4-5 days for me.
    Bit pricey though.
I have moved to H2O2 Hydrogen peroxide on a sponge and it works great for the day.

    • Serious question: 3%? Obviously not 35% but just wondering if 3% or perhaps 6%.

      • 6%
        Get it on ebay 4L

        • +1

Thanks and yep, I get mine from eBay, too (I dilute from 35%)

  • Thanks. Ordered a free sample.

  • +2

One click to unsubscribe and one click to order (onepass I think). Amazing!

  • Thanks grabbed a sample. Wondering if it’s better than no-pong deodorant?

    • +3

Depends on what you mean by better.

I'd consider No Pong natural with simple ingredients.
This has those along with what I consider synthetic chemicals (synthesised preservative, unspecified fragrance, modified starch, hydrogenated oil, etc.) so likely longer shelf life and odour reduction.

Personally, for consistent long term use I rate No Pong "better" for my peace of mind.

I imagine others rate this better for ease and effectiveness.

      • +1

        Thanks for the insight

      • -2

I'd consider No Pong natural with simple ingredients.
Personally, for consistent long term use I rate No Pong "better" for my peace of mind.

Just because it's natural doesn't make it better or safer.
Would you still used No Pong if it contained cyanide? That's 100% natural after all.

        • Thanks for checking, I too believe just because something is natural doesn't make it safe.

The benefit for me, compared to synthetic compounds, is that natural ones typically have a far greater testing history and literature available on their risks and benefits that can better inform my decision to use it or not.

          • -1

            @ozilicious: It's almost the opposite.

If you look at organic farming as an example, chemicals are somewhat grandfathered in and may not necessarily be approved if discovered today.

Rotenone is a neurotoxin and has been used since the 1930s as an organic pesticide.
It only lost it's approval in the USA about 15 years ago.

Modern synthetics need to be proven safe before they can be released.

            • @spaceflight: Thanks for pointing that out, I can see I wasn't clear as I'd have liked.

Rotenone exemplifies what I wanted to communicate:

              1) my decision on how to use rotenone is better informed having +150 years of academic research and centuries of usage to draw on vs something with less

              2) I personally find making my decisions based on government regulations to be conflicting and otherwise problematic

              3) Just because something's found to be neurotoxic doesn't automatically make me want to shun or ban it.
Clearly seen by peppermint oil; hepatoxic, neurotoxic, yet harmless, even health promoting in certain applications.

No Pong uses bicarb or magnesium hydroxide as the main ingredient which are very alkaline ingredients and damage the pH balance of the skin. If you have been using products with these ingredients you'll need to go without deodorant for a week to allow your pH of your skin to return to normal levels. Check out the 1-star reviews on Nopong and the comments about breaking out in a rash from using their products.

  • +1

Have been using for about 3 years. Put it on every Sunday night (about half a pea's amount) and it's still usually not needed by then but I just do it so I don't forget.

At my peak activity I was doing footy training twice a week, the gym 4 times, cycling to work 5 days a week and I was still only applying once a week.

The stuff works so well for me I often think it's some kind of witchcraft. Although I think it's made in a country that makes me no longer wish to buy it which is a shame because it's a great product

  • +7

For those saying it lasts days before re applying, how do you know when you need to re apply? Not trying to troll here but most people with BO don't tend to notice until it's pretty bad. I'd hate to think wow it's lasting 4 days when my colleagues think it only lasts 1 day.

  • +1

I make my own deodorant with baking soda, arrowroot and coconut oil. Works better than any deodorant I've bought

    • How? Is it easy to store or you have to use it straight away? Also, where do you buy the arrowroot?

      • I feel like Woolies used to sell one (it's usually one of the alternative flours for gf people. But most of those natural/organic stores will sell it: https://www.goodness.com.au/organic-arrowroot-powder-1kg/

      • +3

You can buy the arrowroot anywhere. It's also called something else I believe. I store it in the fridge and use as needed, one batch last for months. 3 tablespoons arrowroot, 3 tablespoons coconut oil, 1 tablespoon bi carb soda. Then mix and use. You will still sweat, it doesn't block the pores like aluminum does. This is a normal bodily function. You just won't smell (this is coming from someone who absolutely stinks when not using any deodorant)

    • Careful with bicarb it can cause a rash as it is very alkaline and damages the pH protective layer of the skin

  • +1

Bought a tub. Didn’t meet expectations, even with additional advice from manufacturer. There’s a lot of marketing and hype. The reality is something else. Threw it out after a few months. Wasted time. Your sweat will still seep into clothes and that’s a source of odour. Perhaps it’s good if you sit in an air conditioned environment. It won’t hold up if you’re active (walking, public transport etc.). Still, your experience may be better. Get a sample if it’s free. Nothing to lose.

    • -2

….that's where a washing machine comes iin handy :-)

      • One needs to get through a few hours of their work day before this is possible. That’s the topic here.

        • That's some potent sweat. If your diet and hydration is in check, sweat should be pretty neutral.

          • @creesy: thanks doc…I'm fine. It's the greasy underarm cream that doesn't work

  • I found the samples amazing but a bit messy for me to bother with. And I worry about it getting on clothes and ruining them. I have bought the sticks a few times for my smelly teen and they don’t work as well as the tub, even if used daily. so I would really recommend the tubs only (which are the same as the samples). Or if you don’t smell much then the sticks may be fine.

  • I tried this last time they had a similar deal. Doesn't work quite as well as Nuud for me and the tub isn't as convenient as the tubes Nuud sell. It's still a decent product.

  • Interesting - I started to fill out the free sample order page, got as far as typing in my email address, changed my mind, and closed the page.

2 minutes later, I got an email from Lavilin, saying

Woohoo, you're officially part of the
    Lavilin Australia inner circle now!

    WTF!

    • +2

That's called an abandoned cart email. Most websites send an email to follow up if you have entered your email address and have not been able to complete the order. I think the idea is you might have been distracted and they want to make it easy for you to complete your order. Just ignore it or delete the email or unsubscribe if you don't want to hear from them again. If you're really cranky mark it as spam and that will give negative points to their sending reputation.

      • +1

        Thanks for the explanation.

        Not cranky. 😊

I only bowl over arm so this isn’t for me.
