Withings Scanwatch Light Rose Gold $254 with Coupon + $5.99 Delivery @ JB Hi-Fi

Had this deal sent to my emails on Monday, bit the bullet and bought one for my fiance for her upcoming birthday. Hopefully she likes it!
Looks like it is only sold in Aus at JB Hifi, but in Europe and Amazon it has pretty decent reviews.

The Withings ScanWatch is $499 but only spec difference I can see other than watch face, is the addition of cycle tracker.

Bought with the coupon 92ZSVA4A59M20S, pretty annoyed that I had to pay delivery and no way to click and collect, I couldnt find a way around it either :(

What would you like to know?

I'm probably an edge user case, the main thing I wanted was a watch that looked like a watch, and that I didn't need to charge it regularly.
I have most of the smarts turned off, just phone and text message notifications.
I use it for about 3 hours of actual fitness tracking per week.

Battery lasts me about 3-4 weeks on average (I charge it so infrequently that I don't really know exactly how long in between charges)
Step counter under-counts, but I would prefer under-counting to over-counting.
Heart rate tracking is ok-ish, but it's not fantastic. (Plus if you have really hairy arms like me, it gets less efficient)

I always tell people if you want a dedicated fitness tracker, go for your Garmins or whatever, and if you want a dedicated smartwatch, go for you galaxy/apple watch.
This is kind of just a middle of the road watch. Doesn't do any one thing super fantastic, but does a bit of everything, and looks good, without needing to constantly charge it.

      • My Horizon seems to count my steps at almost the same rate as my Apple Watch. Without detailed comparison, I usually end up with similar step count.

The heart rate sensor is pretty good too even with the hairy arms. I removed the metal band and use a leather band which sits better on my wrist.

  • I'm gonna hold for the scan watch light 2. But this looks like a decent price.

I don’t believe there is a Light 2 model as Light was just released.

Current Models (higher to lower $$): Scanwatch Nova, Scanwatch 2, Scanwatch light.

      Older models: Scanwatch Horizon, Scanwatch.

Nova replaces the Horizon and Light is basically as a replacement of HR model.

Scanwatch 2, Nova, Scanwatch and Horizon all have sapphire glass but light model does not.

      • You are right! My bad. I wish this came in a different colour!

        • Buy the Scanwatch @ $299 from JB. It has all the things except for Temp sensor (used for ovulation cycle etc). It also has premium built with Sapphire glass.
A lot of forums indicate HR model and Light users complaining about how easy the glass scratches after light use.

  • The regular Scanwatch mainly lacks the temperature sensor (not functional in Withings currently anyway) but has sapphire glass and is built a bit better. It has been on sale for a while @ $299 and might be a better value.

Also, I bought the Withings Scanwatch Horizon recently as after wearing smartwatches (Apple Watch 8 and Fenix 6x), I was craving something more traditional. It has been fantastic till now. The 5 year warranty on Horizon is also great (not on any other Withings Watch).

  • Pitty no EKG

  • I bought the first gen scanwatch in 38mm in September. It has already stopped working cause the back is loose (seems like they didn't use enough glue) and I can no longer charge it.

The watch is good as a watch and a step tracker but not for tracking workouts. I found it to be less accurate tracing heart rate during workouts.
I did however get complements on it a couple of times, so considering getting the Scanwatch 2 in 38mm as an exchange.
