We got a 9kilo watermelon for like $1.40 other week, it was one of the best watermelons I've ever eaten super juicy crunchy and sweet. Was fantastic love these guys.

Skippy’s is the best and the boys are very helpful

      • +2

Definitely comes across that way. Most of the comments on their marketing ads have great feedback and happy customers so they are doing something right. They definitely look to be trying to help out the people and at same time stick it to Colesworths.

        • +2

Yep definitely cheaper than Coles/woolies and the fruit isn’t frozen like Coles does sometimes. If you go grab a freshly squeezed orange juice, the kids love em!

If your local grab the mangoes, we purée what we don’t eat and freeze it in mini tubs ready to add to a smoothie

@J B S: Am southside so a little commitment to go that way - on the upside, gislers roadside pies never disappoint for a cheeky pitstop on way home hmm

@Jimothy Wongingtons: Yeah prob a little too far. Gisler’s pies beats yatala pies hands down. Although my Mrs loves Banjo’s bakery at Cleveland now

@J B S: You think Gislers is good - try Oven King in Victoria Point. Best pies in the state.

Wow. And here in Vic, I got 3 mangos for $6.

Not sure what they are. Got from Dandenong market

        • Not sure what they are.

Are you near Wantirna South? There’s a fruit and vege warehouse out there called Big Watermelon - I stop there on my way in and out of the Yarra Valley and 9/10 times I get some massive bargains

      • I am. Used to go there a few years back, but I find Dandenong more convenient.

        • +1

          That’s fair enough
It’s depressing being so far from any level of wholesale / reasonably priced green grocer - best I can do is a $40 mixed box, once a month, which has gotten smaller recently

Bloody hell what an awesome price! Here in Syd that would only get me two

Anyone know anywhere good in Melbourne?

    • I like Brunswick.

      • A Merri-beker, that explains a lot.

so Brunswick Market, or into Vic Markets?

  • Wow, THE Jimothy Wongingtons is a fellow Redlander!
