Same here. $999 @ woolies with some add ins and free shipping

  • Wondering if I should can this deal and start a new one for the deal discovered by @jordan23140?

    • +1

I reckon so. Electric Unicorn via Woollies one shows as $999 for me in SA.

  • I have updated with the additional information in the OP - thanks for the detective work, y'all!

Admins - hopefully this is allowed?

$3500 with hub motor? I doubt it.

At least the 6-speed part is wrong. How about some proper specs?

    • Updated - hope that helps!

The $3500 tag is from the same seller, on eBay.
Don't be gullible, this is nowhere near that value.

Some site claims it has a torque sensor, which would make it better than the majority of hub-powered e-bikes.
But used from a random online-only chinese seller? You'd be brave.

        • +1

Agreed, $3500 is a fake price, it'll never sell at that, and the fact they 'start' it at $1000 should show that of itself.

[Sure, "here's a $1500 iphone, but we'll sell it initially at $400, then bump it up". Which seller would do that if it was genuinely worth that?]

Himo sell it for ~$1630 in the European market and that's a more realistic price/value.
          https://www.himobikes.com/products/himo-c30r-max

While it looks to be decent value for $1000, specs are either missing or misleading e.g. it claims a Samsung battery - which sounds great - but it turns out only the cells in the battery are Samsung. The battery itself is actually their own composite of those cells… though "It contains a secret lithium ion battery that can be removed."… whatever that's supposed to mean.

So basically a good price for what you get - but don't be fooled that it's a massive deal or an incredible value.

  • For the price the specs on this aren't actually that bad, it is heavy but that's to be expected at this price point. No mentioning of size outside of the 'recommended height range', which itself is far too wide to be accurate.

    • Heavy? Specs said 18.5kg. Bing is probably giving the boxed weight.

The reviews are super dodgy. Buyer beware!

All the 5 star ones sound AI generated

    • Agree. Ripper.mates. Hilly Australian roads. Not even mid geared. And 100kg limit. Wonder what happens on smaller bumps or even jumps.

They also sell the bundle for $999 brand new condition.

Pretty much what it would be worth. The components and frame are B U D G E T

But hey, it's an e-bike for under $1000. It'll be heavy, but you'd imagine easily hackable given the hub motor.

Another mass marketing box seller who doesn't have a clue about bicycles. They will vanish with your warranty in no time. The specifications and photos are all over the place, optional front derailleur, cable disc brakes, 2A charger and 'Wheel Size:700x32C (26″)' - wrong.

You might get 80km range with the tiny 10A battery in lowest assistance if you're lucky. It's a 1k bicycle and that's what you get for 1k. It's not a bargain, just a one size fits all bike…

I have this bike, few things people need to be aware of:
    1. It came with some minor issues (stiff chain link, minor break rotor warping), but getting a warranty claim means you have to SHIP the bike to one of the repair centres. There is no repair centre in Sydney at all (there is one in Melb). I ended up taking it to a local shop and they fixed everything in 10 mins for $20.
    2. Its a good bike, components are solid but not top end by any means, tyres are nice, gear system is OK. Its locked to 25k/h if anyone is interested in this, you can't change this
    3. Quite heavy, but not problematically heavy
    4. Battery is pretty good for the price although i just commute on it (5-6K each way, and get a few trips out of it)
    5. I am 6ft1 and i wouldn't buy if any taller, I am at the very limit of what this bike can do and a tiny bit bigger frame would have been better for me. Its less of an issue with it being electric as power ratios etc from proper setup isn't as important
