  • Does anyone know whether this charges with a USB-C port?

    • -1

Yeah it is listed in the specs as USB C

    • +5

I got this fan last month, its Micro USB.

      • +2

I second this, the model i have definitely uses Micro USB

  • +1

It seems that this has water mist flow function aswell ?

Does this runs with main power as well via adaptor if battery is flat ?

    • +1

I dont think theres a mist function.

I actually bought a Xiaomi table top fan with mist function over a year ago and its been working great. I use it to circulate air around the bedroom while I sleep. It runs on battery but you can just also leave it plugged in to have it run all day. I imagine this is the same.

  • +3

I have the more expensive version with the light and misting - it's Micro USB.

I'd be surprised if this one is USB-C.

    • +1

Ah.. thats annoying, bought it thinking its USB C, I got a diff Xiaomi fan I been using that has Micro USB that I want to replace.

How's the misting feature, do you actually use it much? My current fan has the mist but I never use it.

      • +1

I use mist feature in my table top one it's nice during summer if you don't want AC

        • +4

Do you have this one as well?

Best $10 I ever spent, I'm still surprised at how much air it moves for its size.

          • +3

@buckethat: Yes that's the one I have in my computer table. Completely agreed best $10 spent

        • Where do I find such a table top? Never heard of this

      • +1

I've only had it for a few weeks but have never used the misting.
It isn't really practically placed unless you're using fan at desk level with the telescopic neck all the way down.

In spite of Micro USB, this is a pretty good price for what it is. I'd wager most wont miss the misting and light with the new price difference.

        • Just noticed from the photo that the mist function is at the base. Yeah if its anything like the desktop one I've got, hard to go wrong for $20.

  • +1

I’d be interested in getting one of these type that’s usb-c charging ,
when I don’t have to sign up to Kogan to get one .

    • +1

Why not just grab a tiny "micro usb to usb c adapter" for a few dollars if usb c is important.

      • +5

        Good idea ,
but still from Kogan with the endless marketing emails ,
        pass .

P.S. no need to respond with clever ideas like unsub from k ,
        Just having a whinge .

        • +7

Whinge granted, I feel the same :’)

  • +6

So from what I can see in the specs, the cheaper model is the W1 and the more expensive model is N97.
And the differences seem to be shown in this comparison https://ae01.alicdn.com/kf/H4ebaa77c80fa42efaf96424f25f11485…

W1 has oscillating head, whereas N97 has night light, remote control & misting BUT no oscillation

Unfortunate that there's no N98 on sale as I'd like one with the oscillation + remote control

  • Cheers OP, bought

  • +1

Can't see any mention of misting in the $32.99 version?

  • Ordered 2 but just sent a cancellation as I have eradicated micro usb from the house and I don’t want any back, shame as it was perfect otherwise

    • +1

adaptors are about $2 each if that helps?

      • Yeah I tried that for a while, just easier to not let any of the old crap back in the house

  • +2

Anyone with one have experience as an outdoor fan, more specifically for camping? Fan speed good enough?

    • -1

This one is good. See my comment below

  • +1

    Just received.

10/10, the oscillation was a nice surprise. Def worth $20.

  • +1

Unfortunately, the head-shaking feature continues to make a slightly annoying sound😔

  • +1

Welp, my order got cancelled today

"Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are unable to supply your Xiaomi Qualitell Collapsible Oscillating Fan as originally expected."

    Hopefully another deal comes along

    • Same here, though the more expensive misting version seems to still be available for $33. I couldn't find any decent alternatives as a portable fan so I got one.

  • Wow fan is awesome. Set it up about 75cm away from me and didnt feel the heat. I usually sweat at night from the heat, but today not. Also used it with a powerbank so was able to keep it running for 8 hrs .

Wonder if i can hack it and add some extra lithium polymer batteries, have 4 x 5000mAh sitting at home. Im guessing i need to connect the leads to battery control board only

  • +1

Mine arrived and I love it. Perfect for sitting at my desk.

    • -1

Do you know if we can hack it with a larger battery.
Would love to increase it to 27000mAh

      • Probably has a few 18650 batteries soldered to some wires. You could solder a few together and the wires for more capacity.

        • -1

          Can i use lithium polymer

          • @easternculture: Maybe. They may need to be spot welded depending on the tab, i.e. nickel. Perhaps just strap that power bank with low efficiency to the back?

            • -1

@Clear: Its a bit annoying strapping it and too bulky. Rather have everything internal if i can.
I have 4 x 5000mAh batteries from a baseus powerbank that failed. The batteries are still good though and was hoping to use them as baseus are sending me a replacement from china.

  • Mine makes a bad noise when oscillating, I've had it for about a month. Very quiet when stationary though.
