The reviews on Kogan don't look great.

    • +6

Never ever, once they deliverd wrong perfume, much of a hassle to get it changed. No matter what ever the bargain, for me i am not buying any more

    • It is a $10 fan, what would you expect? :)

  • +6

What this deal really needs is more mentions of the word deal to really make it a deal.

    • Deal or no deal?

  • +3

    Too many deals

I have this, got it for 15 bucks over a year ago, it totally got me through last summer orking from home, when I didn't want to install a new AC cos I was moving out. As a small supplementary work desk fan, it can't really get better than this, but of course you need to have it blowing straight on you.

Mine was the older model with no light (or at least none that I know of)

    • How long is the battery life? and does it have a very annoying whine at speed as others have said?

      • +2

Hardly ever charged it from memory, so far out it was never an inconvenience. Some of the time I just had it plugged in.

Probably the only minor complaint, and it's very minor, is that the fan is fixed with not directional adjustment, so if yiu wanted it blowing on your face you had to prop it up on some books or something so that it was the right height. Forgivable, since the misting might not have worked as well if the fan w as pointing some direction than straight ahead

        • Thanks

  • +3

Is it legal to use in car on dashboard secured with double sided tape

    • +26

Only if you fill it with VB

      • Nice

        • I bought one so I’ll let you know how it goes ;)

    • +7

Even if it is legal it's a stupid idea.

    • Need to be careful though, cops could fine you for having items impeding your driving vision. I got fined last time hanging my face mask on the rear mirror.

      • Fair enough.
Its mainly for when im in between trips at work sitting or having a meal in the car.

  • -6

It’s really useless and low quality. Waste money!

    • You have one

      • +2

        Got this from a friend.

        • If they give you this they are not your friend

  • +5

This is good, unlike some other you end up with water puddle, this one is actually send the mist far away

  • +1

    Thanks for the credit OP.
I still love mine. Battery lasts well.

  • +6

Interested in the fan but no thanks to Kogan

    • +2

My experiences have varied, but I buy when I benefit. They wouldn't be making a profit on this one.

    • +1

      Super bargains on Kogan recently.

I have two of these (the mister was faulty on the first one and Kogan replaced it). One has been running 24/7 in a grow tent for months. I might get another because I really like mine.

    • I was waiting to see if any other plant people commented 🪴 🪴 🪴

Any idea how much it lifts humidity levels?

      • +1

My grow tent is quite small (70x70cm) and it's humidity seems to hold 80%+ on it's own. It did help a little because of the small space (humidity drops when I open it up) however if you wanted it for a whole room it won't do anything. Possible will help for the plants pointed in it's direction. I mainly use it as a fan only to create air flow so I don't get any fungal issues in there.

    • Just received mine and I believe it's missing the cotton swab/tip. It hardly surpasses the top of the base, and so never mists… Defeats the purpose a little. Will see what Kogan says

Edit; well I found swab (was thrown on the ground when I opened the packaging) however I'm thinking I'm still missing some capsule

      • What does the cotton swab/tip do?
Mine had one pre installed then another spare I think?

        • I ended up getting a store credit. I only had a swab, so I'm assuming the swab/tip installed was missing. Without it, it can't suck water for the misting feature.

  • +2

I have two of these from last year and it’s good one of my favourites, good battery and good battery did I say good battery?

    • +2

      How's the battery on it?

    • +2

So the battery is pretty average then I take it?

  • +5

i don't know why i bought it, but i bought it. now i have to remember to cancel kogan first in 2 weeks before they hit me with the $79 annual fee

    • Same.

    • Haha same here

    • Same here but started couple days ago for that bamboo sheets

    • Ditto

    • +1

You can set a reminder on this deal so you remember to cancel

    • -3

Cancel it now, you'll still get the benifits until the end of the 2 weeks (ignore the misleading messages saying you will when you click on the cancel renewal button)

Or you could click the tick box on the Kogan First page to remind you 3 days before the renewal, which of course isn't ticked by default.

Then you don't have to pay the $79 like I did a few months ago :(

      • +1

The only thing misleading is you. If you cancel now the benefits end immediately.

        • -4

          You're incorrect, as I said

ignore the misleading messages saying you will when you click on the cancel renewal button

I have just cancelled mine and despite the misleading messages on the Kogan First page your benifits continue until the renewal period.

          • +1

@spaceflight: If you paid for the month, then yes, when you cancel, you will still get the rest of the month that you paid for.

It might not be the same for the 2 weeks free trial.

          • +2

@spaceflight: Exactly what CodeXD said - if you've paid for a standard month or year (which you mentioned you did a few months ago) then yes you can still use the benefits up until renewal date but for the 2 week trials you cannot.

  • +1

This is a great deal. Used to paying $20. This is a steal for $9.99, bought a few.

  • +2

Happy with ours we bought like 3 years ago, main thing is just dont over fill it or the mist wont come out.

  • -8

    Just FYI

all ultrasonic type humidifiers. you need to clean the machine every 2-3 days.

Otherwise germs grow up and fly with the water particle.

(NOTE: Ultrasonic humidifier does not generate vapor, but small water particles. That's why you can see it and it can transfer germs to air)

If you are lazy so you can't clean every 2-3 days, don't buy it. It's harmful.

    • +3

How is that a valid neg?

  • +1

How strong is the wind on max enough to cool you or no

  • The feedbacks were so bad. Should I just ignore them or would I be one of the unhappy customers soon?

    • +2

Be daring! I bought 2 to try

  • +4

I got this, strongly suggest to wear something with noise cancellation if you ever decide to use this fan…

  • Thanks Op. ordered

  • +1

i have one, works well, except on the really really hot days, well worth having

  • +3

Bought heaps of stuff from Kogan with no issues and they have some good bargains sometimes. Grabbed one of these and will see if it helps on the 40deg days sitting at the desk.

    • Kogan can be great.

  • +1

just have to beware of where they sourced their products from…..probably returns?

    • -1

Unfortunately, Kogan does so that there is a possibility. I have found it dropped to $9.99 last week but wait for it to drop to $5. Now it may not happen after it was posted here.

There is an amatuer video review on the Youtube that you can easily find it. Yes, it is small and may be not liked by many.

      • +1

It will probably sell out by then. So not too optimistic it will drop to a fiver

        • Yes, I missed out some by waiting already. However, I bought a lot already as well, mostly fivers.

      • you are right, I saw the review and the size supposed to be $5 in China.

  • +3

Paid $20 for this 18 months ago. Happy with it for what I paid, would definitely buy at this price if I didn’t already own one.

  • After a while the rubber ring inside to seal the top from water has becomes loose (or expanded). Any tips to fix it?

    • +1

Replacing the rubber gasket with a new one of the right size, is one option.

      — Captain Obvious strikes again -

    • +3

Put the rubber seal in a cup of water in the fridge for a day or two. It should return to its correct size and elasticity.

  • +2

Bought second unit now after the first served me so well, my wife stole to use
At this price totally worth it
    Highly recommended

  • -2

Great fan, perfect for water cooling CPU and GPU

  • +1

Only $9 for three year aftercare. Bargain.

    • Just buy 2 XD

  • Can you cancel kogan first before they charge you?

    • +1

According to a comment above you can and still use it till it expires :)

      • +1

        ty friend

  • +1
    • Care to tell us whats that thing next to the fan?

  • Bought now, think about it later.

  • -2

    Delivery kills it tbh

    • +1

      FREE trial

      • -2

You can only do that ONCE, so everytime there is something you want you can't just do FREE LOL

        • Nope 3rd time free trial for me now

        • They seem to reset your expired free 30 day trial every so often, I'm on about my 2nd or 3rd free trial.
There's also nothing stopping you from creating a new account and doing a free trial on that account. You can create an account via your Google account in like 1 click.

  • It has 2000mah battery. So wont run for long. But I've seen in comments on Kogan people run it over 2hrs before battery needs charging. And it runs on the power connected, so no issue really, unless you want to move it around. I would connect it to power bank then.

And one commented that misting feature can turn on and off. Another good feature.

I've bought 2 as I trust the brand Xiaomi, had only positive experiences with it, so far. Lets see how it goes.

  • will this give you a glistening face like a pig whilst its on ? im asking coz thats already my natural face.. dont wanna make it more obvious.

  • +1

Thanks OP (and Kogan - I guess). Reviews on the listing aren't great but the testimonials on this thread gave me all the confidence I needed :)

Bought 2 as I intend to have it blow on my face while I'm asleep (Pushes air at my face and prompts me to breath more), and will use it with a power bank (Charged via solar, so free electricity) so I essentially have 2x fully charged fans (Interchange when one runs out, charge both via solar during the day) + power bank charge every night = Should last atleast 1 night

  • is it bigger than my hand?

  • Maybe I missed it somewhere in this thread but what is the fan size? 10cm, 15 cm?

  • +1

    110 x131x 217mm

  • Hey guys,

FYI, I brought 2 of these fans and one was faulty. I was charging it and the cable (where the connection is) got really hot to the touch and also there was a burning smell coming from the fan. Another thing I noticed is the red light on the fan was not on to indicate it was charging. The fan doesn't work now. Lucky I kept and eye on it when it was charging.

Now I don't even trust using the 2nd one which is working.

    • Have you had much luck with a return/refund?

I bought 2 and one of them the misting thingo doesn't work. Kogan want me to email a video of it not working grr.

      • That's annoying, just tell them you can't send video file it's too big to attach. I told them I'm not sending a photo as it doesn't show the fault so they refunded me

  • Mine just arrived. Amazed by the quality of the fan. Good value for 10 bucks…
