  • @gotyourback could you confirm BOOST17 code is meant to be listed in the Boost Shop back page as a permissible code? It isn't listed there currently.

    • gyb (possibly logged in by a few SB employees) doesn't get paid over the long weekend and won't respond to you until Monday as usual. In addition, you also need to be lucky.

    • +2

2 orders just tracked, used BOOST17

      • +1

Dosent mean anything if code isn't listed on SB Boost page. Not taking the risk until they fix it 🤷

  • Looks like simslutting is back on the menu boys!

  • First time getting these N days sim cards. Sorry but, what do you do after 28 days if you want to keep using the number especially when you ported it?

    • +1

I believe you need to port it back to somewhere else then port back to boost, best using these for data and having a different number just for text and call.

      • Gotcha. So basically these N days sim cards are disposable and there's no way of extending their use?

        • You can recharge after but not with these deals you'll be paying the full price, there might be other ways around it but usually I'll just opt for a new number as it's not important for me to keep the same number.

  • +1

    Yay it tracked already!

  • Yup for me too. Thanks OP

  • Tracked, took about an hour, thanks OP

  • If we activate after 29 Jan, we only got 35G data, right? Unlikely to be delivered by then unless eSim

    • +1

It's probably just a case of they've not updated their webpage, happens all the time in this day and age.

      • -1

Yes, still received bonus data on old $30/$40 SP in Dec. These were phased out and no longer selling. Never need to pay attention to these dates.

    • It does say the 29th, but there's no mention of what happens when we miss that date.

  • Well I found this on their terms:

This Cashback deal is not valid together with:

Any Gift Card, Voucher or store credit purchase
Other store deals unless otherwise stated
Vouchers or Promo codes not featured on our platform

So not sure if we will get cashback after using the code :(

  • -1

What date does the Sim need to be activated by to get the Cashback?

    • +1

From shopback page "SIM must be activated within 30 days of ordering"

  • +3

3 days left. Be patient. It'll be $4+ soon enough (and it's not getting sent till Monday anyway)

    • -1

      Do you feel lucky punk?

    • Let's just hope they don't end the deal early which has happened before.

  • hmmm do i risk it for the non-listed code biscuit

  • -2

This is the first time I’ve seen a code is required to get a discounted price. Has anyone seen this before and were your CBs successful even after using a non listed code like this one now?

    • +2

Your first time only. Actually, it is not.

      • So is everything all good after a few months even if using this code that’s not mentioned by SB?

        • +1

Under deal it is mentioned available for $17 just doesn't mention the code, codes have never been an issue with Boost before, they mention the deal so I'm very confident it's all good.
          I've ordered 3 btw.

    • +1

@Eugklng SB has probably forgotten to add this code on its website as this contradicts the offer of $17 mentioned.
Cashrewards has listed this code although there is no profitable cashback.

  • If I do the temporary port out and port in and activate the sim do I still register as a new customer and get cashback even though it's tied to the same email and login as my previous boost plan before porting out/back in? Or do I need to setup a whole new boost account login?

    • +1

Cashback wise, It doesn't matter what email you use to buy/activate the SIM on. It has no bearing on the cashback as long as it is activated within 31 days.

      • Cheers for that info! Are you using the $2 Telstra starter Sim to do a temporary port out?

        • +1

I'm not using anything as not porting anywhere. If I was however, I'd choose a non Telstra network SIM to save potential conflicts porting back in as Boost is Telstra.

  • Very glad to see this back!

  • Thanks OP. Bought two.

  • Still have a few sims unactivated from the deals before due to SOMETHING WRONG lol

    • Just use the life chat in the app and they activate it for you with no issues.

      • +1

Using the chat service everytime is not solution, isn't it? The same as asking them to check through our account everytime.

  • is BOOST17 an approved promo code? It's not listed on shopback site

    • It has successfully tracked for me

      • +1

I think unapproved promo code still tracks but might get a rejection when it’s time to confirm a few weeks from now

  • teaser $2 profit starter but when I checked ongoing 28-day plans the cheapest was $22/7GB which x12 = $260/84GB for a year compared to my 12 Month prepaid now $230/170GB - https://boost.com.au/collections/boost-mobile-12-month-sims

so if like me you have your own phone, and you're unlikely to use more than 170GB/year (14GB/28 days?) then a better deal might be the 365-day prepaid

  • +2

One thing SB does worse than CR with these deals is how long they take to confirm. SB takes close to (or more than) the time they give, while CR gives a similar timeframe but confirms weeks in advance.

  • Can’t seem to order, keep getting ‘Something went wrong’ using other family members details/emails/phone numbers as well as altered address. Anyone with success trying to get past it?

  • +2

    CR your turn…..

  • +1

TBH boost has probably made a profit off giving me free sims. I keep a couple in reserve for clients that are having internet issues while the NBN is dicking about/we are waiting for hardware.

A boost sim in a 4g router works wonders & I have actually had a couple clients pay a second or third recharge while waiting or just keep the service like that (I usually encourage to change over to a cheaper provider/change sims every 3 months for double data).

Pair a 4g router with some cheap directional antennas bodged together & I have got some remote/obstructed low signal sites online at next to nothing. Pair that with VOWIFI & they even get mobile service in dead spots.

    • +1

Old Telstra Gen2 modems which incl 4G backup (cheap to buy online 2nd hand) work well with these if the existing SIms inside them no longer work. Just replace with these and being a Telstra SIM work well.

      • Yeah they are handy & I have used them a few times. I try to keep a couple b818-263 or TP link 4g modems on hand though. More flexibility if its not network locked & those gen2 modems speed cap any sim in them. Not a problem for most people but its there.

I wish there was an easy way to flash the firmware on those telstra gen2s to something that isn't ass, they would be a goldmine.

        • The Technicolour firmware ones are easy to flash whereas the Arcadyn ones not so. Once flashed (from memory) will work with any sim. I must grab one out and check next time I have a non Telstra Sim onhand.
          Link here:

  • Thanks OP

  • Has it gone already… Can't see that option 😭

    • What, the $45 sim?
Click the Shop button, second row.

    • Yeah, took me a min or two to find it yesterday. Once on Boost via SB link, look for the 28 days SIMs and the $45 SIM is there.

  • Can anyone still order sim? It says technical issue 😕

    • What says it's a technical issue? Your computer? Your web browser? Shopback? Boost Mobile?

  • Still waiting for SB to track from yesterday. Is it possible to cancel order? I forgot to disable the uBlock.

    • +1

possible but annoyingly hard. I went to chat, they confirmed it was cancelled. I went back the next day and they said it was still shipping, useless chat agents

    • +1

If you clicked through in SB (and it's in your click history) you can ask them to manually add tracking.

In my experience it's very easy to cancel a Boost order for a full refund.
Just shoot them a message, they're happy to even after the SIMs delivered if you haven't activated it.

  • +4

Can the shopback rep ( is it @gotyourback ? how do I tag/notify them?) confirm as it's a bit iffy, there's a "Shop the $45 SIM for just $17. Limited time only" offer on the shopback boost site, but it doesn't list the code and you need to enter BOOST17 to get the $45 SIM for $17.

  • +4

I'm waiting for CR for this deal. SB hasgone flaeky for me lately and their response have been a tad dismissive & un-helpful.

  • -4

That code for cashrewards, when you get 65G for $45 you add the code for BOOST17, the price will become $17 and also can get $5 cashrewards, so total is $12 for 65G/28 days.
    I just bought it.

    • Yeah but you end up spending $12. This deal with ShopBack you make a profit of $2.

    • +2

Welcome to OzBargain! I’m sorry that the natives decided to skin you alive

  • Expires 29 January. Does that mean Sunday night? Or End of day Monday 29 January?

    • +1

End of day Monday 29 January (AEDT)

  • +1

To those who buy a whole year’s worth: how do you get around the fact that you have to activate within 30 days to get the cashback?

  • I tried to make a purchase now but got the error:The promo code BOOST17 doesn't seem to be valid or has expired. Has this deal expired? Couldn't enter card details yesterday.

  • Has anyone who purchased on the 26th of January had their Sim card shipped out?

    • Yeap. Received today (Sydney).

  • So, i signed up for this on and it's about to expire. I've got a yearly Telstra Sim but was using the Boost Sim to save a little data from my yearly plan.

Should I recharge this to roll over the data ($22) or wait for the offer to happen again?

  • oh man that was a terrible experience. Activated and initiated the port in from Coles mobile. At the end of the online process, got to confirmation page, but no email or order number provided. 2 days later, multiple calls to support, and found out something went wrong in their system where no port in order was ever raised. Support had no idea what to do next. I gave up and asked for a full refund, as chances are any resolution will probably mess up the cashback as well, setting me out of pocket. Ended up buying the Catch Connect deal posted today.
