      For a couple more dollars

      That one appears to be double the price… US$15.66 + GST… Total US$17.23 (~AU$26.22).

      Username checks out.

      • Are you signed in at the moment? Shows me $16.29 as a Welcome Deal. Including tax, its $17.92 or under $18.00. For only $5 more, it isn't half bad. The best thing about AliExpress is you can redeem a Welcome Deal as many times you like when you make a new account.

Until AliExpress pick up on it and ban you for life. Happened to a lot of OzBargainers so far.

Until AliExpress pick up on it and ban you for life

            Do we loose anything?
For my last transaction I had to invoke my credit card's shopper protection feature (and got the money back) because now Aliexpress' computer bots make it impossible to apply for returns (at your own expenses to China) or refunds, they actually are set to deny anything.
Fortunately I discovered www.temu.com.au so I don't need AliScammers anymore!

            • @billadm: Never had to return anything for a refund. Temu is significantly more expensive than it used to be and doesn't stock brands like AliExpress does.

Plus AliExpress live chat to real people works wonders.

                Because you don't buy anything.

                Temu is significantly more expensive

                What a load of BS.

I've made 38 this month and well over 1000 in the last few years. You really think the one guy who posts a shitload of AliExpress deals on OzBargain would never have purchased from there?

                  What a load of BS.

It's true. I had thousands of products on my wish list and heaps of them have been removed or the prices have been jumped up. A lot of this is because hundreds of stores have left for one little thing Temu can do which has a major impact. They can override your prices at any time and you'll bare the cost. I.e. you sell something for $10 that costs you $5 to buy, Temu rolls in and lowers it to $3 for one of their sales. You now have to take the loss ontop of all the other fees.

Feel free to TWAM the mods here and I can tag a few of them if you like. We'll see how that goes. You attract a lot of negs everywhere you go. Is everyone wrong but you? Evidently not.

The live chat now gives a prompt if you'd like to speak to someone. This is a very recent addition.

        • It shows $24.78 plus tax, no warranty plus you deal with Aliexpress computer bots that make it impossible to apply for a return (at your own expenses to China) or refund!

        • +1

Not really a like for like comparison when there are extra hoops to jump through, including one that may result in a ban. A fair & reasonable comparison is one that is readily available.

Don't forget the Mar 30 delivery. Why wait months when you can get one in-store for cheap and instantly.

        • and full ACL protection

I'm not well versed in what makes a good powerbank a good powerbank but it doesn't look half bad.

so you don't know much, but you reckon its good. fair enough.

The AliExpress one is more expensive, slower charging (10w max vs 18w), no usable warranty and won't get delivered for another 6wks.

what makes you think it doesn't look half bad.?

  • +2

micro-usb charging cable? how dated is that

      • The actual power bank has USB Type C output

He means the input port but unfortunately for $12.95 some people still believe they can buy a $100 rated power bank, ignorant trolls!

      • its difficult to say from the website, but…. looks like micro-usb input?
Still cheap for a 10000, but kind of a downer

    • If it was me I'd use the USB-C port. Each to their own.

        Go to AliScammers.

Looking at this video for the MB3804 it is marked on the power bank that it can accept either micro usb or USB C for charging.
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWWwXA83hIc

The MB3804 was discontinued Jaycar - MB3804 and this current deal is for the Jaycar - MB3810.

So I'm confident that it accepts USB C for charging, but I'd be interested in more evidence.

      • oh- thanks for finding that.
if usb c works as input and output, then thats fine.

        • +1

I bought them just now and can confirm. The USB-C output is 18W too

  • +1

Only the USB-A output on the Powertech one is FastCharge. USB-C on it is just 5V and no fancy power delivery or anything. So if you want to rapidly charge a phone, you will need a USB-A to USB-C cable. Which I personally would hate.
The AliExpress one doesn't mention any fast charging anywhere, or even anything other than normal 5V output.

Overall the Powertech one is better. But not by much. For $13 I personally wouldnt even keep it as a backup to keep in the glovebox, purely because I'd need to keep a micro-usb cable with it too, and it would be the only device I own to need one!

    • I'd more readily get the other powerbank here atm if I needed a cheapo for justin: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/828036

    • USB-C is 5VDC@3A which is 15A. Most Android phones will accept this perfectly fine and charge from 0% to 100% in less than 2 hours.

  • +2

Ok I bought these. The USB-C port has 18W PD charging and it triggered TurboCharge on my Motorola so not 5V/3A afterall. It accepts USB-C input for recharging as well

    • Thank you for this info. do you also know its weight

  • This or the INIU one? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/825191
Not in a hurry so happy to wait for next sale on the INIU one.

    • Wait for the INIU one i'd say.

Why would people buying these ancient power cell? Its like 10 year old bank with micro usb charging. Stop buying these e-waste.

    • +1

Then recharge with the USB-C port? It's not hard.

    • What makes it ancient? (Genuine question. Thinking of buying one)

  • +1

Just ordered a couple for an upcoming trip, half of the price of anything on amazon.

For the nerds here are the internals. Battery and IC. The battery is a JS 1260110 10000mAh li-poly with 3.7V voltage and 37Wh.

It uses the SW6106 IC with confirmed 18W QC 3.0 and USB-C input/output. An English data sheet is here.

For around $18 AUD you could buy the battery and IC board off AliExpress. Then solder your own wires and stick it in a case.

    • Nice.
Do some of those solder joints look a bit dry or is that just the lighting? Almost tempted to get one at that price but I’ve already got a couple of the Belkin ones that were $10 back in December 2022.

Also, are you shilling for Jaycar now? /s

      • I'm not much of a soldering expert so I couldn't say for certain. I definitely had it lit up real good to capture the IC. The case is super easy to pop off so that's why I ended up sharing the pics.

        • I’m not an expert either but basic rule of thumb taught to me in year 11 electronics was shiny smooth solder good, dull textured solder not good.

    • wow that chip must get pretty hot when charge..

  • +1

I would say this looks like a good deal. Everything else is like twice the price of this at least

Thanks op picked one up after mulling for days. Deal ends today
