Not as cheap as my last post but I've been pretty satisfied with its sound quality to share this deal.

Although not as portable as the Sony srs xb100 - it is a much better sounding speaker costing less than the xb100.
It gets fairly loud especially if you have 2 of these paired and has a significantly better bass than an xb100. Surprisingly the mids and highs come out quite detailed as well (I do have custom eq enabled via the app).
The pair I received from the previous deals have lighting on both ends of the speaker which I believe is the "updated version".

Lightning deal $117.99 down to $66.07 + tick the 20% off coupon for the final price of $42.47

Here's a jpop genre music sample with the speaker in action. As always, you'll have to hear the sound in person for a proper listening experience.

    I love a good w-king when I'm out by the pool. I love a good w-king when I'm having a bbq. I love a good w-king under the shade. I love a good w-king—nighttime, or day!

I don't have any jbl speaker to compare these with but agree to the rest of your sentiments there :)

I do have an older sony srs xb31 which I paid over $127 some years back and these speakers imo come close if not on par with the sound despite not having LDAC (which you usually pay premium for anyway).

Damn, no more w-king for me today.

      • You still have 2 hands to help you out.

I got one of these for $36.57. I think it's on par, or even better, than Flips and Booms. Excellent value if you catch a lightning deal

  • damn! I missed this. I'm in the market for a few at this or similar price again.

Got this last time, I thought the sound quality was super bad. I listen mostly to jazz, classical, and latin music. The sound is very muddy with strong bass and mids, and no soundstage at all. Tried to EQ through the app but still pretty bad. Would assume the quality would be better for pop and electronic music.

    • need to set your expectations relative to the price… also if you already have a high end $$$ sound system that you're comparing this with… well ¯ \ (ツ)

      • Yea I know.. but still it's pretty bad, I got 8-9 speakers (most are super cheap). And this is the worse by far, even compared to a 15$ portable bluetooth speaker that I got 3 years ago off an ebay deal. However, sometimes, speakers need some time to break in, so sound quality should improve with usage. The sound quality of this is only slightly better than my echo dot/pop (quality and not volume).

        • Well if it helps this is my EQ tuning

But yeah I guess it's just all personal preference in the end.

I just played back some classical and jazz between this and my srs xb31 and this produce on par clarity and decent separation of the instruments with my current EQ (xb31 just having a slightly better defined bass imo)
