  • I think they will sell a ton of these due to new GPU line form nVidia.

    • The Super gen consumes as much as just 40x gen.

      • Slightly more but not much like 20-30 watts more between the 4070 and 4070 super.

        • I don't know who you're replying to, but my OP was about people who want to upgrade from an old GPU, so need a new PSU and that's why they will sell a ton, it's perfect timing.

  • do these come with wiring or do you have to buy that separately?

    • 100% come with cables.

        cheers

  • I’ve got one of these in my pc. Been going strong for 4 years

  • I need to upgrade the PSU in my PC. Is the 650w good and suit the following specs;

    • intel i7 2600k
    • 16gb ddr3
    • 6x sata hdds
    • gigabyte 1080 gfx card.

Would the 650w cables reach from the bottom to the top of a mid-sized tower case? My current PSU is too short so it's sitting ontop of the case :/.

    • you can input your specs here to get an idea of wattage: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/

are you talking about the cpu power cable? the one on normally on the top left?
if so, then yes, I used this on a deepcool ch560.

      • Thanks Follow, I'll check out the link. Yep, the cpu cable is the main issue, the power cable iirdc just fits.

  • How much power does a standard gaming machine use these days? (non-sli, avergae 4x hdds, non-OC'd)

depends on the gpu I'm pretty sure.
My 4070/5600 build using the link above came to 420W.

      • That's a similar wattage I got too with my current Intel 2600k + 1080gfx system. So even though parts become more powerful, the power requirements more-or-less stay the same?

        • they become more efficient probs. otherwise you'd have blowouts. no one wants to buy a 1500w psu for their pc
