Decent deal, however I don't want these anymore - I find them often hard to separate and they rip a lot.

Australia's No. 1 Paper Towel Brand

And despite that claim, I'd so hope there are better ones.

I used to buy the Quilton Absorba 4 ply. With every roll, one of the ply's would have seperation anxiety. Hated it. There would always be a thin 1 ply wastage. Cheers

    • any decent alternatives?

      • Been using these - seem to be ok for most uses - https://www.aldi.com.au/groceries/laundry-household/househol…

        • haven't tried these, but the cheapo 2 pack from Aldi is terrible, super thin and rips all over the place.

      • +3

i highly recommend tuffy, doesn’t rip and leaves little to no lint behind, one piece of tuffy absorbs as much as 2 pieces of other brands

      • +3

        Viva all the way.

        • next time you go pass tuffy give it a squeeze, it’s solid, no air to make the roll look bigger, hence it nearly never goes on sale, no other paper towel even come close, i tried it all 😂

          • @viper8548: Isn’t Viva curved so that it actually is bigger in size, and absorbs well? I sometimes find Tuffy do separate a ply and it annoys me.

          • @viper8548: Does it shed, or rip when wet. Viva does quite well under wet conditions. Handee U, other brands don't stack up..

I'm content to use micro fibre cloths for cleaning jobs round the house.

    everyday price is not bargain

  • Thanks OP, hopefully, it doesn't contain "forever chemical" likes in poo ticket

    • +2

@frewer:Forever Chemicals are everywhere. Paper towels are least of my concern when the food we eat are infused knowingly or unknowing with forever chemials.

‘Forever Chemicals’ Are Everywhere. What Are They Doing to Us?

You have access to that entire article?

      • +1

You could say the same for micro plastics, vocs, air pollution, insecticides/pesticides, etc - there is an abundance of problems in society but I'd agree PFAS is an emerging issue gaining critical attention.

Reminds me of a fav film of mine - Man from Earth - the discussion around 1 person that was immortal, and hence the possible science around it indicating perfect cell replication. And specifically eating wild game cause it eats in the wild is better for you than domesticated animals. Food in the wild tastes better than food off a farm cause our cultivation practices are restrictive where as nature was not intended to be restrictive but complimentary.

Keep saying humans are dam well NOT efficient at doing things.

Honestly when did paper towels go from 100 sheets to 60

  • +2

    We're subscribed to this one:
    https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B08BZNKYFN

works out to be $15.00 /100 Sheets, as opposed to the $36.00 /100 Sheets of the posted deal.

    • +1

^^^ Ummmm… Does it? Please show your working.

      • It's right there on the page. $18 / 120 sheets = 0.15c a sheet. *100 = $15 per 100.

        • +5

But Amazon's math seems to be wrong?

          1st deal: 24 x 60 sheets at $21.60 - 1440 sheets (1.5c a sheet)
          2nd deal: 8 x 120 sheets at $18.00 - 960 sheets (1.875c a sheet)

120 sheets to a roll but $15 for 100 sheets? Might as well be silk paper towel.

          • +1

@duckduckering: You're right sorry, bad math!

            • @vividultimatum: But when actually selecting an option to checkout there are 2 to choose from:

              4 count (pack of 1)
              160 count (pack of 12)

I am even more confused, how many are we getting?

Edit: upon checking reviews, this is what I found

"160 count is meaningless. it's actually 60 sheets per roll and 12 rolls in your parcel, which means most expensive sheets in Australia. if you wanna return, the rude seller will reject immediately and respond rudely. So bad experience!!"

160 count is the $32 option, which according to this review contains 720 sheets, which is 4.44c a sheet.

              Misleading title.

So @funkymonkey's listing choice is indeed the better value.

      • +1

Edit: actually you're right. The Amazon calculated price of $x/100 sheets does not make sense

        • +1

don't trust, check the numbers yourself….

      • now to see who didn’t do well in NAPLAN maths.

  • +4

For anyone who doesn't have the storage space for 24 packets of paper towels, the 4 pack at Woolies are only marginally more expensive; 1.83c per sheet as opposed to 1.66c per sheet or ~ $1.1 per equivalent size roll vs $1

Please go to the OzB naughty corner and sit facing the wall for 15mins.

If you can't find space for 24 rolls…roof space, car, cupboards, fridge, dishwasher, dryer, behind the couches/ TV….

  • +5

Same price per 4 pack at Coles right now.

  • This deal is $1.50 per 100 sheets in S&S for anyone wondering

  • +1

I dispise the lack of actual paper in the supermarket brands. I've been getting mine from local janitor supplies for years. Far more on the roll, and work just as well IMO. I buy 2 or 3 rolls at a time. Lasts me a yea or 2.

    • Brilliant idea. Are you buying the rolls that are more like the paper towel that is found in public toilet etc?
      No bubbles/perforations, just flat paper?

    • Yea! Yea!
