          • @jv: Not sure what that equals but it rolled back !

    • Someone said it’s not worth the hassle claiming over 1k at the airport

I hope OZbargain revoked their membership.

        • +1

There was forum discussing it, but it’s not worth the hassle finding it 😴

  • Don't forget to resell for a higher price and repeat!!

    • How do you usually resell?

Wondering if you can buy using your credit card, get the points, do a Return and Refund at Apple. That way you get the points, the cash and a minor profit.

      More information please

      Please expand on this!

It wasn't that long ago when $1k was considered too expensive for a smart phone

    • +18

Wasnt that long ago that a million dollar house was a mansion

      • +1

Now that won't even buy you a Ghetto Oven in Western Sydney.

Ripped off by consumerism disorder & stagnating salaries for very long time!
Still pretend we are "lucky" country

      • Still can be, but volume builder.

    Best phone ever

    • for iFans, except the S23 Ultra is much more productive & in few hours S24 Ultra will crash it with advanced AI :(

      • +12

        Lets be honest
Changes in phones are minimal since say 2020

    • +2

      Ha ha ha.

    • +1

Now confirmed that is hypocrite marketing lie. The cost of living is biting the consumerist mindset.
Live to the Oz BARGAIN standards & go for >50% or no deal ;)

  • +3

Geez that's expensive. Is it really worth it? I just upgraded to a pixel 7 after the recent deal from an old S20 FE and the difference is barely noticeable once you've installed all your apps and stuff. They're literally all just slabs of silicone and glass, and if you throw it in a case they're even more the same. I guess if you want internal storage the price goes up - but then you can get a model that supports an SD card if you are doing anything that really needs storage like phone editing or footage uploading from a camera or something. Because otherwise you have cloud backups that should be able to keep your device pretty empty otherwise

    • +2

Trying a completely different OS might actually have a noticeable difference.

Hardware on phones have plateaued for years now

      • +1

I went 12 to 15 because it represented essentially a doubling of performance (and refresh rate actually).

Annual upgrades seem to be pointless. I’ll stick with 3 year cycles for now. The 12 retained 40% of new price when sold.

$400yr approx? Not terrible not great.
        $540yr belong sim.

    • I just upgraded from Pixel 6 to this phone. I feel so bad spending that much on a phone but I was annoyed at Google's complete disregard for the ACL and the crazy depreciation of their phones.

Entry level iPhone 15 max pro.

I think if you can afford this you can afford to pay $700 more for the 1TB version.

    • Photos and videos are the killer obviously. I’ve got a Pixel 1 with unlimited backup. I dump the photos onto the Pixel and upload every 2-3 months or so.

If Google ever ends that I guess I’ll have to get a NAS or something.

      • +1

Set up SyncThing and never have to manually dump photos again. Add in a smart charger like Chargie and then it's on all the time without being 100% charged.

        • +1

It might work well for some but I didn’t have any luck getting it to be reliable. Seemed to be an issue somewhere, maybe with the pixel. Might be ok for moving updates across but when I had it basically stop in larger transfers and not ever continue.

Was too much trouble, takes me 5 minutes to do it once every 2-3mo.

    • Try $160 for the 1tb iPhone 15 pm nand ic , n 1hr of micro soldering time, i charge 250 to go to 1tb.

    • +1

      Icloud is the way

      • I was really showing the rip off Apple do with higher storage, 1tb doesn't cost extra 700 bux when the original 1tb nand memory chip is $160 retail.

Mobile Phone innovation at an end 3nm did bugger all for iPhone 15s performance, better camera and usb c was it , and usb c was forced on them by the eu, innovation is dead, 3yr old phones can do everything these can. But some will never be convinced. 2k for a phone is just insanity. 3k for a video card is insanity

    • +2

      Very true

  • I musts haves it

For a second I got excited of finally having a iPhone deal as want to buy a phone …. Lol

Costco currently have the iPhone 15 Pro Max 256gb for $2049. Price beat with Officeworks down to $1946!

    • Does officeworks price match costco?

      • Yep they do now! I had no problems getting it matched over the phone.

    • Thanks for that! Got it price beat at office works!

  • Should be 1 grand now that 2 double blind tests have proven its dinosaur status.
Watch Marques or the vegan chick from Versus!

  • Those who price matched with Officeworks over the phone, can you use gift cards as payment?

    • +1

They told me it had to be paid by credit card.

    • +1

      Only credit card

  • I just upgraded from the iphone 6s+ to this, if i can get 9 years out of this then all you iphone haters buying new Samsungs or Pixels or what ever phones every year stuck on huge monthly plans who is the real sucker???.I buy outright and stick with my $25 50Gb 5G plan i really don't care if there are "better" phones for less your still paying more in the long run and android OS sux lets be honest. ;)

    Hilarious

You can price beat with Officeworks with the Costco price ($2049.99)
I did it the other day when the price was $2149.99 and it brought the price down to $2042. I then used Godards to pay when Coles had 20x flybuys points which is effectively 10% off. I calculated that I paid around $1785 with all the running around I did. Hope it helps someone

    • Thank you, I price beat with OW as well, came down to 1947.49. I'm going overseas in Feb so it'll drop down to $1752.741. Have 12 months price protecting on my 28 Degrees Platinum card so potential for more savings there too.
