    Kayo Sports Basic $231

    🤣🤣🤣

That is $38.50 per month for the footy season.

    • +16

Luckily there is more than one televised sport in the world. They even run year round!

      • 🤣🤣🤣

      • +4

They got rid of all the good stuff. No football on there at all anymore. Need about 6 different services these days, it's out of control

    • +1

No it's not, you need 7 months of subscription from the start of the season to watch from game 1 round 1 to the grand final (March 7 to September 28). $33 per month for the AFL season which is cheaper than 7 months after the price rise in April for Kayo Basic ($30->$35)

      • +3

No it's not, you need 7 months

        No, only till August.

All finals games are available free to air.

        • -1

But who wants to watch ads?

          • +8

            @nathanj2004:

But who wants to watch ads?

You'd rather stare at a Kayo logo for 2 minutes whilst channel 7 are playing their ads?
Because that's what they do now.

        • +3

And in fact the grand final is ONLY available on free to air.

        • -1

Sure, but they won't be in 4k on FTA which is the main drawcard for this deal. If you don't care about 4k then go even cheaper and get Kayo One for 6 months and enjoy the low resolution that channel 7 offers for the finals

          • +3

            @Polar15:

but they won't be in 4k on FTA

At least on FTA it won't be buffering every few minutes like Kayo does.

        • +1

But not on-demand. So we're back to the dark ages. Rock <> Hard Place

  • -1

    GOOD DEAL

  • +17

Finally Foxtel makes itself known to all

  • how long will i have to activate the code they send?

    • +14

      Until Toby Greene gets reported.

      • +1

Won't be long. Could even happen before the season starts.

    • +2

Must be redeemed by 30 November 2024

      • +4

        There’s no redeeming Toby

  • +7

Not bad but only need Kayo from round 1 to first finals so paying for 12 months is a bit of a waste, might be cheaper monthly deals coming

    • +7

I'm hoping for another Qantas deal. Might be able to get $10 off per month.

      • +3

        Or another Telstra Rewards offer.

      • +1

Or st George credit card with 12 months free

      • Yeah I got that deal last year & I had won $80 of kayo/binge giftcards like 6mth earlier & was deciding which one to use giftcards still when till the Qantas $10 off came up so been good to have it discounted & use the giftcards. Has been great to see every AFL/AFLW games I wanted to watch on kayo & without ads. I'll say alot of NBA still ads during games even in the quick timeouts so not worth watching. But when the 12mth $10 off finishes I won't keep it as I don't think it's worth $25 amth for me, even though has been good to watch which AFL/AFLW games I wanted without ads as free tv doesn't broadcast all games & to finally see nbl games as been good. Can't afford $25 a month anyway.

    • +4

A St Kilda supporter I'm gathering?

  • +3

Eagles is $275 for standalone or $250 for addon membership

  • +1

    can stream for free?

    • +5

Actually you can get streams of live sports channels for free if you know where to look.

      • +1

I find them horrible through web browser

      • Pretty keen too if anyone has any insights. Had used a service before but ended up being unreliable for Aussie stuff

    • +19

Half of the games aren't on FTA. If you want to watch your team every week it'll involve a fair few trips to the pub.

      • +3

And your month of kayo is still cheaper than a couple of pints would be

        • +3

          What about FTA chopper style?
Watch WA channel when it's on free to air and not in your state. Use a Kodi source.

          • @Tommohalby: WA still gets some games delayed on FTA.

            • @sween64: I'm happy with that. 🙃 Disconnect from the outside world and enjoy the game in your time

  • +2

OP, you can make a table yourself here.

  • +1

This probably seems like a dumb question, but is this full access to kayo basic, or just access to watch the AFL season?

    • Full kayo access for twelve months

  • +50

Who do I speak to about getting Kayo into Turkey?

    • +6

      Erdogan?

  • More sports teams with Kayo subscriptions here (possibly a dupe?) - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/797823

    • Those links that aren't footy teams seem pretty broken to me

  • +8

4K content will be dogshit bad. The bit-rate on Foxtel over sat vs Foxtel over IP is night and day.

    • Binge (streamotion sister to Kayo) 4K content actually doesn’t look too bad, albeit not live streams.

  • Do they email you the code after purchase?

    • I just did it via The Giants. I did the pay in 6, which worked out to be the same price. The code came via email after about 10mins in my junk folder

      • I did it 30 mins ago and still nothing (checked spam folder too).

        • Who did you go through? Might just be processing time differences for clubs.

          • +2

@StackableSnacks: I did the Giants one too. Only got the Digital Giant invoice email so far.
            I’ll keep waiting impatiently haha.

Edit: got it. 75 mins turnaround time.

    • +3

      Way better than rugby

        • +13

Those last two words explain a lot…

      • Unions trash except internationals between the big 4 sides the rest of unions dire.

  • +3

    /r/AFL leaking into bargain territory!

    Great offer

  • If you add one of these to an existing membership (expiring 1/May) will it add an extra 12 months?

    • +2

      Yep

  • +6

Interesting, wasn't aware of upcoming price changes for Kayo.
Received an email a few weeks ago about the change from Streamotion to Hubbl but nothing since. Can't be far off.

    • +1

Yep was new to me too. Pretty poor form but that's to be expected I guess

  • +9

Thank god they’re finally introducing 4K

    • Came here for this comment

    • +3

      "4k"

    • +12

No it's 4k a year they are raising the subscription price to.

    • Amen!!

    • It's probably gonna be at a lower bitrate than 1080p lol

  • +10

These price increases and service decreases are just going to cause me. To return to piracy… Its a (profanity) joke

      • +2

Yer, so many court cases on copyright infringements.

    • Price increase isn't too bad all things considered (with how hectic inflation has been), didn't it used to be $22.50 or something for a single screen sub? Now $25?

  • +6

Right, so they have systematically gotten rid of all association football, and now they are about to raise their prices? Got it.

  • +1

Why no one wouldn't use the ozbargain classifieds and just buy a spot is beyond me

    • +1

Someone has to signup and get a subscription first. No new signups = No new spots.

    • Never even knew that existed, just gotta hope the owner doesnt screw you over and change account or watch the 2 screens ha

    • They grow on trees?

  • +2

their broadcast of NBA is woeful as well. adios kayo.

  • May be cheaper to just get the international streaming package if it works with vpn. $200 for Richmond

  • Think I'll just stick to tapping into my mother in laws Foxtel

    • +6

I'm so glad the words into and Foxtel are in this sentence

      • hahahaha its why i wrote it

    • Think I'll just stick to tapping into my mother

      Desperate times…

  • First year Essendon (digital) members also get a scarf. At least I did last year!
I assume some other clubs do the same

    • +9

First year Essendon (digital) members also get a scarf.

Sounds like a good rag to clean the car with.

      • Real funny Daryl
