Decent cashback at BWS from ShopBack. Starts today at 4pm AEDT.

Been a while since they had a decent cashback, hopefully Vintage Cellars, Liquorland and First Choice follow suit.

Special notes for cashback tracking:
- Extension tracking does not work for BWS, please click through from ShopBack to ensure that your Cashback is tracked.
- Transactions paid using WOW Rewards or Woolworths Dollars are not eligible for Cashback.

    • Pretty sure it means the browser extension. I've noticed the extension doesn't register when you "activate" on the BWS website.

      But I've had no issues with cashback tracking when I click through from the Shopback website, even though the extension implies it isn't tracking.

      • ah ok. that's weird be I thought the browser extension actually works by goong back to the shopback website and then redirected you to where you were.

        anyway the phone app is by far the most reliable..

    been waiting for this. OP think one of the reps mentioned FirstChoice wasn't doing any for a while think it was systems related but expected to return sometime

    I barely get any Westpac bonuses anymore, esp since First Choice stopped cashback.

    • Depends if the the percentage discounts are applied sequentially? The difference between the 2 offers would only be 3.76% (32% vs 28.24%).

      But BWS is the only booze company doing CB these days so it's worth a shot depending on product prices compared to Dan's. First Choice don't do any CB

    Did not track for me last time.

      Ditto - has failed for me last two times now. Used clean browser both times. No issues with other stores, just BWS. Submitted claim, they approved the first one out of goodwill, second one denied

        Exactly the same with me. Second one they told me it was my fault because I "clicked a banner and it disabled the cashback" (which I absolutely did not). Made a complaint, won't bother with this combo again.

    no issues as of late with tracking. had an order with hefty cashback and with westpac bonus declined for no reason but i followed it up with shopback and it all got resolved within a week. no complaints over here

    have just used the app and everything's been okay pretty consistently.. but i better specify that ymmv before someone replies to this telling me they've been using the app for fifty years straight and theirs never works

    Did not track last time, ShopBack response after uploading all required screenshots and details of the purchase was, unfortunately it was rejected due to BWS rejecting the cashback claim, for no definite reason. Will not use shopback anymore, bad experience

      I don't see how the onus is on us if BWS fails to recognise/approve our transaction and we can prove it. We're not accepting an offer from BWS for cashback, we're accepting an offer from SB. SB should pay up and then get recompense from BWS. This is farcical.

  • Not buying from BWS any more after my local was shut for their single staffer to have 15 min smoko when i went to collect. Cost cutting to the extreme.

        Used the app, clicks reported as expected, claimed it as missing and they REJECTED after providing all the additional details including the invoice. 😔
        Messaged the rep on OZB Friday evening, no response yet.

        Pretty bad for them to run it so soon after the other considering all the problems reported.

    It is now over 3 months since my last BWS/Shopback purchase, and it is still 'pending'. It is a real hassle having to remember to check back.
    Also "Exclusions-Non-Alcoholic purchases (unless stated otherwise)" makes me nervous as I sometimes want to buy 'Better Beer Zero'.

  • Any pro-tips for maximising the chances of successful tracking - use the app, use desktop, best browser, payment method?

    Don't pick up the order if tracking confirmation doesn't arrive in what period of time?

      Just make sure you access the BWS site via the Shopback app. The main issue I think is that BWS doesn't work with browser extensions.

      Don't pay with anything other than card or paypal.

      Tracking confirmation has usually been pretty quick for me. But I'd just avoid getting it until you receive the confirmation if you want to be really sure.

      Apart from using the app instead of a browser:

      • Ensure cart is empty prior to adding items in the app
      • Double check the time that cashback is available - especially with daylight savings.
      • Don't add any coupons
      • If the app glitches or something I remove everything, close the app, and start the process over again
      • Double check any exclusions

      Have used cashrewards and shopback with BWS/First Choice/ Liquorland around 30 times and never had tracking fail fingers crossed

    • I have an ipad I use for all CB as with pc or phone it doesn't always track, key is a clean OS with everything allowed to track cookies etc since going to this setup I've had 100% tracked cashback

      I use edge which does not have any extensions installed, exclusively for shopback and cashrewards.

      • I do the same with Chrome on Windows, don't use it for anything else. All tracked so far.

    I made two orders on 31st Dec and both tracked with upsized cash back and Westpac bonus cashback. I'm pretty sure I used the iOS SB app which loads the BWS webpage. I've also never had an issue with tracking.

  • I had an issue twice when trying to get the bonus cashback. Went through shopback website through browser,add to cart ,processed all the way to the end and it was stuck on loading circle for ages.l even got the email confirmation that my order has been processed and money taken out of my account. Couldnt get out of the loading circle so refreshed and brought me back to BWS website.shopback didnt register the sale.anyone know how overcome this issue?assuming have to use the shopback app?

  • Never had any issues with BWS and Shopback and made plenty of orders… Are you guys using PC? I always do it through mobile if it helps..

    • Maybe different stores selected? As a product may be on clearance at one store but not at another

    Placed order for $140….$30 cashback, just smidge over the maximum to get the full $30/22%

    Not planning to pick up until my order tracks and everything looks ok

    Soamy negative votes, either ShopBack or BWS have an uphill battle to win back these customers

    Shopback + BWS are dead to me now due to failure to track

  • Someone should ping GYB to let him/her know about the damage being done to their rep. I'm going to have a crack at this later tonight, only because the price of the wine (without cashback) is reasonable and Im running dry.

    Failure to track (despite using app and following all guide lines) is one thing.

    Having claim rejected after showing proof of purchase and proof of click through from shopback is reason enough to never use shopback again.

      Are you saying that after their rejection that you made direct contact with their agents questioning the rejection and that they emailed back without a reason that it was still rejected?
      I only ask as sometimes things can be rejected however emailing then directly questioning the issue should fix things up (unless of course there was a genuine reason for the rejection). SB are usually very good at resolving on the rare occasion something was wrong.

        That was exactly my experience. "Yeah, send us your invoice. Yeah, you clearly clicked in the app and you clearly bought it but you now it didn't like track and stuff. Sucks to be you"

    • Grumpy bunch here, never ceases to amaze me!

      I get negged for asking a question (see the question mark there, that's what it means!) and following up with a suggested solution if the reply was the default first canned SB reply, its worth replying back to it. Pfft, neg away rather than just take it as a possible solution. Head shaking stuff!

        Because that's why they reject it. "Sorry, your purchase didn't track. We don't care if we can see you clicked in the app. We don't care if you provided the invoice we asked for. You're just sore out of luck. F*&^ you, come again!"

          That's what, submit a missing claim is for. I can only speak from personal experience and for the few that got missed, they were all paid.

          The initial reply when submitting might be a "Canned" reply noting that it didn’t track BUT reply to it and an actual CS agent" will reply noting that they will investigate. They "will" chase it up and add it to your cashback.

          Of course it would help if one didn't have to do this but they will pay if a genuine purchase. It's the same with Cashrewards if ever there is a missed one there.

          One can also shoot gotyourback anytime as per comment here.

    Dumb enough to do this last time through their app, 4G connection, no proxy / adblocker / whatever other lame excuses they come up with. Their final answer amounted to "Even though you did everything you were supposed to do, turns out our app is made from sh*t, lies and recycled Chinese newspapers so you don't get paid."

  • Would it be worth attempting via Click and Collect and only collect after it tracks or would it only show as tracked once collected?

      that is the wise thing to do but you may end up getting your order tracked then rejected. that happened to me but support figured it out quickly.

    Bit gun shy now. Not sure it's worth the effort but it has been months since any cashbacks for alcohol.

    Hi all, I'm hearing you loud and clear that there are some ongoing tracking issues we're having with BWS. This is an issue that I've heard from you all before that I've flagged with our team and BWS previously but it looks like there's definitely more to be done to make this right and I am absolutely willing to help that get done.

    First and foremost, I will say that Missing Cashback claims are the best way for us to help have visibility on these issues. This not only allows us to have a scope on how many users are affected, but also gives us a bulk of example orders to allow us to investigate issues with your order as well as tracking as a whole with the store. For that reason, we really appreciate you taking the time to submit these.

    As for users who have had orders rejected in error, if you haven't already I really implore you to please DM me with the details, or DM again if you have messaged previously. It's clear that this needs some specialised attention, so I'd love a chance to follow your claims up and escalated the issues as a whole as well as your individual purchases for re-review. I've been taking some personal time recently so I appreciate your patience as I get settled back in, but please do reach out and I will start compiling user information and get this looked at with urgency tomorrow morning.

    • The bigger question is, why inflict BWS's dodgy tracking on your members? Why not put a pause on BWS involvement until it is sorted? You're only eroding member confidence in Shopback.

        I will be using this feedback to pass on to the wider team so that the appropriate next steps can be taken here to sort this out. If that means they have to come offline temporarily, that'll be a decision made by BWS and the team that work directly with them.

    • A good place to start the “specialised attention” is look at previous BWS cashback claims which you rejected! You already have records of these why do you still ask us to DM?

    Previous purchase didn't pay out until I filed a claim.

    The following purchase then didn't pay out and they rejected my claim even though it tracked and I provided a claim with a receipt.
