60hz, VA, 5ms…. not much to like here

except the price and the brand

      • How's this compared to the LG one which is on sale at Aldi? 32UR500 I think.

        • I don't have the Samsung, but I have the LG (a similar model 32UR550W, same panel but with height-adjustable stand). I have no complaints. Contrast is excellent, as expected of a VA. Colours are nice and not too oversaturated. The black smearing is far less noticeable than my last VA monitor, which was a BenQ monitor from 2018.

          • @winnytp: Thanks. Does that LG support Picture by Picture?
            Thanks

How many ms response time is recommended for Excel spreadsheets?

      • Gotta be able to see those VLOOKUPs resolve as fast as possible, dontchaknow

        • Cmon we use xlookup now. Keep up.

For a business monitor, none of those are particularly detrimental. 4K at 32" really is the productivity sweet spot. I use 2x 1440p 32" at my office and 2x 4k 32" at home and the extra real-estate on my home monitors comes in handy.

      • yeah im happy with my 32" 4K phillips probably overkill to have two of that but i will be super cool i just it can power my laptop and data just one cable just like we have in the office (but office monitor is 27 1080p make me want to smash them really useless

It's nothing too special just a typical deal price for a monitor with these specs and USB hub. Also a lot of reasons why VA would be more desirable than IPS for a business monitor. 5ms is negligible when there's a 16ms input lag on 60hz screens. You'll be surprised to learn there's an input lag of 8ms at 120hz.

      • Could you elaborate the advantages of VA over IPS for a business monitor? Thanks.

Main advantage is contrast ratio for media viewing. If colour accuracy is good on the VA then it might be preferred for editing due to blacklight bleed on some IPS.

I've found big VA screens have fading at the edges due to viewing angle problems. Far away they're fine, for TV's but IPS is better in my opinion.

It's cheap, big and not for gaming.
