Looks like a 10$ price drop on a decent 20m hose
Seems to do the job so far !

i just bought one last weekend full price. damn!
Reviews say the hose has a strong chemical smell that gets onto anything it touches (ie your hands)
I wonder if this is the stanky hose Cypress Hill always warned us about.
Bought and installed it yesterday. No smell as far as I can tell.
Maybe the guy got a fresh batch from factory.
Must be something similar on sale at Aldi.
Nah, only Coles.
They price match most of the 'big boys' in the retail scene.
They frequently respond to Aldi middle aisle stuff - I don't know if Coles carry a retractable hose, bit it looks like Aldi have some right now (if they haven't sold out)

I know.
But in this case, they're price matching Coles.

I've never bought a hose at Aldi that I didn't hate.
But is it any good? Looks a bit cheap and nasty to me
I mean if your budget is $40 what you gonna do really? Otherwise I’d give it a miss. Luckily Bunnings return policy is pretty chill.
Purchased this last week. Really dread the hose as it constantly kinks anywhere it wants… Makes this very annoying walking back and forth 15m or so
anyone recommend an actual good hose and not these cheap ones?
Gardena. I did initially buy the those that OP posted but it was terrible. The retraction system sucks.
I read a post here recently that someone took apart a Gardena and it was rusted to hell. Several people agreed about the questionable quality.
any recommendations on a good hose without a reel? Gardena reel seems to be arounf $188
Yeah Gardena good balance affordable and not a POS
We use the following and order by quality:
Hoselink : never kinks, retracts comfortably and fittings are good (they are about 230$ depends on sale)
Gardena links once in awhile but overall similar to hoselink but better return policy I guess (they are about 250$ I think)
Bunnings cheapo 40$ hose in this post - better then manual hose. But that’s about it, if it breaks easy to return I suppose
Yeh after years of swapping out cheap hoses, I went a hoselink and I can't look back. Had mine for years now and the retraction alone is good for your mental health haha, and their twist fitting system is just so much less hassle than the normal hose connectors.
Hills iconic.
is it worth it for just the reel, could the hose be replaced?
That’s what I was thinking too
Heads up these are absolute junk. Purchased every available hose reel at Bunnings multiple properties work related. Gardena are the only units that have held up several years in. Hose is still perfect, doesn’t kink, plastics haven’t degraded, reel mech seems fine and no cracking on the housings fixed to the wall. Yes cost more upfront but they are chalk and cheese.
