What is up with the prices of NAS drives of late… Prices are going through the roof it seems like. Anyone got an idea of what causing it? Any scoops on where to find 6tb to 10tb at reasonable prices?

Shopping express have decent deals sometimes. They had 3x10TB Ironwolf Pro's for $888 delivered a couple of months back.

In part its because the exchange rate is horrible. However the main thing is the hard disk manufacturers were allowed to merge such that by 2010 they could sew up the market and the competition ended. Since then HDD have been a cash cow for them and SDD prices have fallen till HDD are verging on an obsolete technology for niche purposes.
Don't expect to see change for the better, other than those exchange rates rectifying themselves.
