Air vent mounted hand cuffs. I see a business opportunity.
Am I the only one who has a problem with vent mount phone holders? The vent just tilts down, and the phone usually does too, even if you tilt the ball joint up and tighten it as much as you can.
It works passably on a RAV4. Outlander has had no luck.
This one has a hook design so you can clamp it to the lower side of the vent to avoid tilting. I have a similar one and it works fine without tilting unlike the usual ones that come with a pinch design.
Or fold up some cardboard and shove it under the bottom fin.
You clip it onto the bottom of the vent, so that the bottom edge stops it from dropping.
Thanks OP! Been looking for one which does not “pinch” the vents! I have the same issue as Thirfty McGifty, the vent is falling down and phone sometimes falls. Keen to try the hook one!

The problem with this product is heating. If the AC is not on, it heats up the phone with 15-20 minutes and phone stops responding.
