    I'm so old !

I remember when crumpets were 5 pence!

      • I remember when crumpets were a ha'penny!

      • I remember when they were 5 bees!

          • @redhotchilli: How much in the UK for Golden Crumpets brand? You are comparing say Coke brand to Kirk’s brand cola

          • @redhotchilli: I was just watching a video of someone in the UK getting one of Aldi's "Too Good To Go" (in the bin) boxes. Cost £3.30 and contained:

            • 2x Bags green apples (6), total 12
            • 2x Bags white bread rolls (6), total 12
            • 2x Bags brown bread rolls (6), total 12
            • 1x Bag hamburger buns (6)
            • 2x Bags red plums, total 2kg
            • 1x Festive pigs-in-blankets quiche, 1kg
            • 1x Skyr yogurt, 500mL
            • 2x Bags mini crumpets (6), total 12
            • 1x Bag large toaster crumpets (12)

While that was pretty carb heavy, other people have gotten boxes with a decent amount of meat and salad. Aldi need to do these here.

Man idk how long this takes you or if there’s some program thing you have to do this, but thanks a lot for doing it. The quick one look glance without getting distracted by pictures etc is a god send

Being Irish, I need the one with pictures.

50% off should be the RRP #(profanity)

  • Damn it, really need some half-price brown rice!

    • Colesworth 1kg in the interim

    • I think Coles has brown rice half priced

I like how they think Doritos Corn Chips 150-170g are initially worth $4.80
They used to be $1.70 as 1/2 price.
ALDIs does 200 gram for $2 from memory, then the dip is like $1.50.

    Buh buh buh podado famine!!!

Some of these prices where we are told rolled back something something.

Down down, the prices are not down.

Sausage rolls few months ago were $6.80, now $8. It all starts to add up especially when you bulk buy.
How come they wont do what eBay does, and give you better discount for buying more?

I am only interested in Tegel specials, that's the ticket right there, $14 down to $7.

What irks me is that I see 'everyday low price' red tags keep increasing, sometimes almost monthly. I really don't think grocery inflation is being reported correctly. I could write a list of hundreds of items that have increased way more than 10% in the past 6 months.

The way I see it, their half price specials are the normal price. If you don't get it at half price, you are being charged 7-11 / servo prices.

    • Yeah I don't know how we got to this bizarro world, if they want to sell something for $5 and they still make big profit on that, they set it at $10 and do half-off every other week. Then they get the impatient/urgently need it/stupid people buying it full price still between sales.

I thought putting a massively inflated RRP and then putting a huge discount to generate hype was the oldest trick in the book that everyone was wise to.

Very simple. If 50% off buy

If not then go to Aldi and buy

Helps you as the Colesworth then give you purchase promos to get you to shop more often

      • +3

I literally look out only for 50% off price tags when walking in Coles/Woolies. Makes the shopping quicker too! As someone above mentioned, doritos is effing ridiculous at full price. Look at how connoisseur ice cream is going up too even at 50%. total BS "inflation" being sold to us.

Nescafe Coffee Sachets shouldnt be listed as a bargain, when you can get 100 for $5-8 at your local Asian supermarket.

  • Is the Sunrice basmati rice any good?
Woolies website shows the 1kg bags as product of Pakistan and the 5kg as product of India?
