Good price on this Thicknesser and this also comes with a sander and chisel set via redemption.
The price only showed up for me when using a phone initially and showed the normal price when using a pc.

It showed nation wide for me, though I purchased in Rothwell QLD. As I mentioned in my post I had to search using my phone to get that price to show. Dunno why that was but it worked.
Confirmed -
QLD - $999.XX

Out of curiosity, are those who are buying these tools:
a) have their own workshop/shed
b) into fine woodworking
the ability to dress and achieve a consistent thickness in rough timber and/or laminated panels is the main reason to have a planer/thicknesser, and being a specialty tool you are almost certainly going to have some kind of workshop/shed/garage to store and use all of your other tools before getting one of these monsters.
Hmm I'm not sure what it is but I am getting to an age where woodworking looks like a fun hobby. I don't have a workshop or proper space for tools - only minimal space outdoors and don't live close enough to a rent a bench type thing in NSW so I'm stuck with ghetto DIY builds. Also, looking at these tools are almost a hobby in itself as I dream of changing careers so there is that too…
I only started getting into woodworking after moving out of a unit and into a house with a garage. I don't have a planer/thicknesser, by the way. Currently using sanders, electric planer and hand planes to edge and dress pallet wood boards.
These power tools as you have guessed require a bit of space, but that shouldn't stop you getting into woodworking. Perhaps start with hand tool woodworking. You can still make beautiful pieces with hand tools, albeit a bit longer and with a bit more elbow grease.
i keep my thicknesses in garage and use for DIY, so can be unused for long periods (6 mths+) but find it handy when i need a piece of non-std size timber, when i did my floor i buzzed all the joists so same size and was perfectly level, they are heavy.
I bought one as I've wanted one for a while for jobs i want to get done. Also I want to make some new timber stair treads, and as with most things its often cheaper to buy the tools, buy the timber and DIY than buy from a fabricator. I then have the bonus of having the tools for any other jobs i want to do.
You don't need big spaces to do this work, any garage space will do.

Oh man!
A lot safer than a table saw for some tasks eg take a couple of mms off 19mm beading. No need to fap around with push sticks and be mms awsy rrom losing fingers.
Are you typing with a table saw?
I wouldn't recommend fapping anywhere near power woodworking equipment.
Agreed, much safer than a table saw, but a table saw can be perfectly safe if you use it safely, and maintain a level of diligence, appreciation, (or fear) with the tool. It's my favourite and most used power tool.
Thicknesser is just a beautiful word
Price shown as $1,319?
