There used to be posts, in posts, where you could make $3000 a month working from home. oh well, the times are gone now.

    • what was the job or what did they do

  • +4

Why not just skill up to earn more?

Do an online tafe course or something that will get you into a higher paying job so you don't have to worry about a 2nd job

    • What are some recommendable courses atm something that might pay well

I guess it is an option

I was moreso trying to find something to complement my main job which is part time atm

Do something you like, or think you can pick up on, and do that. No one can just pick a course for you.

Many tafe courses would lead to jobs that pay better than you're currently earning, the thing is that you need to actually want to do the job. We can't pick those for you.

        • -4

I will just google top tafe courses right now see what pops up thanks as always spackbace

          • +3

@AlienC: Just browse the tafe website

          • @AlienC: Work smarter not harder. Getting 2 jobs is not smart, although its the easier route.

          • @AlienC: How about learning something you like? No point having a passion for something like engineering or mechanical and studying to become a surgeon..

      • Something on fiver..

    Why not? Legitimate options.

How about become a priest and tell your congregation to buy land in your area?

Guess admin decided to put you in the penalty box instead.

      • Then these are the exact justification for admin to add the ability delete posts

Not really it's just a mildly interesting post, a summer fill-in, but we have seen it all before. Together with the feigned indignation.

        • +1

Perhaps we should discuss about more important matters like nuclear subs instead?

          • +5

@AlienC: Don't worry about comments from Protractor, they aren't the arbitrator of what should be posted and what shouldn't. In fact they have been placed in the penalty box for trolling. Your post isn't unimportant, just something you have asked and has been answered (7 pages) previously.

            • @Baysew: So if you had extra time to make money from home what path would you choose?

              • +3

@AlienC: I think it is important that home is a place for relaxation and leisure and time is given to pursue your interests away from the workplace.

              • @AlienC: Maybe something computer related. Or packing shit u sell - niche business

    • +1

Which is why I suggested OP basically 'tool up', this forum knows the situation OP is in just from their constant posts

      • -7

don't bother the usual suspects always have the same answers nothing ever changes can't help them

i am actually looking for proper answers and hopefully help others that might be looking for the same but there will always be the trolls that never really contribute

        • +8

          Maybe help yourself for once.

          • +1

@brendanm: Appears to be quite adept at taking matters into their own hand…

          • -2

@brendanm: I was thinking of being a nice guy and helping out the local school instead but i had a change of heart and decided to sell on Amazon instead got any tips or advice?

            • +4

@AlienC: Yeah, apply that much effort to finding a job or upskilling, and you won't be having to work a part time cleaning job, and won't have to make a million threads asking the same questions over and over.

Also, be good to your mother.

              • @brendanm: Great advice I'll try what you said especially that last one.

            • @AlienC: Try a men's shed.. You might learn something new or business out of it

    • -6

wow that was a long time ago i guess no new potential jobs have opened up since then

      3 years not much change

      seems about right

can't wait to hear your lovely contribution as always

if you do have nothing to add please don't fill up the thread with garbage

      • +2

What action did you take after the last post?

        • -1

I ended up just doing more hours in my current job and burnt out a bit

friend recommended me to maybe take out a second job in same industry so that might be a good idea to do since i am already knowledgeable in this job

but was hoping to see if any sort of low income wfh work was available out there so i can have a variety between jobs for a bit and see if i like it over my primary job

yeah instead of skilling up further i just turned those hours into work income instead

          • +6

@AlienC: Has it occurred to you that taking a bit of a hit in the short term (studying instead of doing extra work) will yield salary increases in the long term?

            • @Inertia-g: Yes that is why I am here researching if anyone has any good recommendations otherwise I will just go with another direction.

Just seeing what the ozbargain community might know.

              • @AlienC: Choose a course funded by gov. I don't know what your current work is so can't really rec anything special.

For example cyber security is in demand but maybe challenging for computer noobs.

    Hustle? Grind?
Only Fans, or if you are better in the kitchen, than the bedroom, stream cooking lessons. ( Only Flans.)

    • I think we are onto something here

Sign up with Appen, plenty of WFH opportunities there, but the work is mind numbingly boring and the pay is only minimum wage.

I saw an ad for a company called 'Data Annotation' the other day doing basic writing and voice tasks to train AI. I might look into that. I'm also after a WFH opportunity to supplement my seasonal outdoor work, I was previously making good money doing freelance writing until AI came along :(

    • You're 100% correct with how mind-numbing the Appen tasks were.
I remember years ago I had to read out a script of like 2000 random words (or something like that), I did those a few times but stopped because it made me want to KMS lol

Not sure what Appen offer these days, and the pay-rates though

      • Appen is crazy yo

    • So many negative reviews about Data Annotation on Reddit.

Got to think twice before join and waste my time.

  • +2

ASMR or if you got good set of feet than feet pics. They don’t require any degree and is completely WFH

    • +5

A camera on your feet while doing another job WFH? Double the income!

      • Now we are cooking

Look into sites like Freelancer or Fiverr. There's things you can do, but even if you couldn't you could find jobs people want completed, find the person who can do them and charge a premium. It's similar to drop-shipping, but for skills. Look into the subject "Craigslist Arbitrage"
You should have skills, but if not, be resourceful….while you're learning skills.
For that, look into FreebiesGlobal for free Udemy courses and such.
You'll need to grind until you have capital to invest into things with greater risk and reward.
You WILL lose money trading/investing/sport-betting, at least in the short-term. 90% lose money in these things, even in the long-term. Scared money holds onto losses and too quick to scalp small gains.
Affiliate marketing is free, but more effective when you pay for traffic. It won't be an income unless you're serious.

  • +2

You can get paid to review people's assignments/work and fix their punctuation.

    • +8

Not sure if you're serious. OP has no idea when to use commas.

      • +2

Wouldn't matter if OP used Grammarly, LanguageTool, Plagly, or Slickwrite. One of these (can't remember which) has a powerful AI which rewrites text in different styles, doesn't just check grammar and spelling.
So, still potentially a source of income. Slap some notes on university boards offering proof-reading services.

i think its the opposite these days. they get chatgpt answers and need someone to add mistakes into to make it more human

Unlike you, my P8P is capable of intelligence.

Thought you blocked my comments because they were too triggering and to the point? Oh, and that you wanted this thread shut down because the comments you were getting weren't the ones you wanted?

    • I used to do ok out of that, just advertising on Gumtree. Quite a few ESL students looking for that service.

      • +1

hmm interesting might give it a go

Onlyfans isn't a joke answer. Good money available and you might land a whale or sugar momma and be set for life.

    • Depends on what OP looks like

      • The world is a big place, just about everyone is covered by a kink or fetish somewhere, fat, thin, tall, short, ugly, hairy, etc etc.

      • +1

With my looks I think I can get a diet sugar momma

edit: https://www.seek.com.au/job/72320056 looks perfect for you. You can just ask Ozbargain what all the answers are.

edit 2: And since you probably need this advice, make sure it's not a scam.

  • Look at companies like AGL, Origin, APA etc. Strangely, large numbers of utilities and banks allowed their contactand data entry staff to WFH permanently if they wanted to.

    • Unfortunately most of these companies want FT workers and there is a staggered hybrid trend back into the office a few days per week, for many of them.

      • There are the jobs getting replaced by AI

I hear the Princess of Nigeria United Kingdom has 400 million awaiting transfer into OP's name, pending a $20,000 deposit to release the funds. Sounds legit.

  • +1

What a joke WFT and get full pay without doing the hours. Sounds like OP wants to know how to scam an employee without any knowledge.

looks like a came to the wrong place for these kind of answers my apologies i forgot where i was for a moment my fault

  • Apple tech support you can do from your home. It's very basic support so you don't need to be a geek and any serious problems your job is to elevate it to the right place. Your main job is to know all the basic stuff, which they will teach you, and to have a cheerful Aussie voice/typing ability.

    • I would rather be dead than support Apple users or products

  • -1

    OnlyFans

  • +12

Dude, if there was an easy job sitting at a computer desk typing stuff WITH NO SKILLS, everyone would be DOING IT. Dont be dumb.

    • +1

      😊😇😊

I think you might have triggered some upvoters.

    • -1

My thoughts exactly. I'd love one of these cushy, undemanding jobs. It would get me off the xbox for a few hours a day 😂

  • +2

There are plenty. But people don't disclose the easiest/most profitable ones because then they'd become flooded with newbies, driving down their ease/profitability.

You need to put the hard yards into finding them yourself.

    • Let's keep this on the down low just between the two of us

  • +2

Kinda was hopeful for something realistic in here for a friend in a tough position atm to supplement a casual role..

    • -1

I'm a strong believer in the hail mary strat

  • I'm in the same boat.

I have 2x Jobs. 1 APS where I pick my own hours and 1 job that's 3 days a week as an ICT Manager for a small organisation.
I want to drop the APS job ($40/Hr) as I cannot stand the commute and being cubicle trapped all day, and just get a menial basic 1 day/week job that has WFH. Minimum wage is good, just something to occupy my time thoughtlessly, so I'm not spending 4 days a week off work as I get very very bored very very quickly which is why I got the APS job originally but that's become a little unbearable.

Highly considering just going back to UberEats again and collecting my $32/Hr after tax to drive around and pump beats but also boring.

For context, I want to fill my spare time and be at home doing so, not worried about money.

    • There’s no way you would earn $32/hr after tax on Uber eats….

      • +2

Go through my comment history, I've broken down the screenshots of earnings (Around $45/Hour) and my expenses ($800/Yr insurance, $450/Year Tyres, $200/Yr Servicing, $500/Yr, depreciation etc, able to claim part of my phone bill, computer expenses, fuel as well which brings it back up to around $32/hr - also keep in mind a lot of these expenses like rego, insurance were there no matter what, so it'd just discounted on top of what was going to be paid regardless)

        • Not a bad hourly rate, all things considered.

albeit this guy is not australian it works out to be roughly $30/hr
