Recently purchased a Google Pixel Tablet for my son from this deal. Within three days of use my son dropped it while trying to dock it. As it's magnetic he though it had connected but it hadn't and fell on the floor cracking its screen. Worst part is the day of the incident is the day the screen protector and case arrived via Amazon delivery.
Fair enough it was an accident and accidents do happen, I had a quick look online to see if I can get it repaired. Nothing comes up with Google Pixel Tablet, only Pixel phones. Then checking Google for help but get referred to a new initiative to get customers to self repair via iFixit. Thats great, but iFixit does not ship parts outside the US and the Australian affiliate does not stock the parts. I tried contacting Google directly, which you cant, they have to call you back and I am still waiting on.
So my dilemma is, do I go and try to find the part via AliBaba which only lets me purchase a minimum of 2 screens for the order and get tools online and try to fix the screen my self or do I look at alternatives tablets and cut my losses?
Where's the option "wait for Google to call you back"? They likely have a repairer in Australia, only it'll cost you.
