Can't we do with Audible like we do with spotify/Adobe….buy with Turkish lira or Argentina or any other one?

    • Yep this is what I do. Turkish iTunes account and using credit from Turgame. It applies everything to my Australian audible and it even says it’s an AU Premium Plus monthly inside of my App Store list of subs. Less than $4 a month.

      • Do you need a vpn? I have nord will it work?

        • +1

This thread has the general procedure on how to make a Turkish iTunes account and get funds into it: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/718277

No VPN needed. You make sure you’re logging into your audible account on your iOS device (with not active sub) switch to the Turkish store the open the audible app and buy the sub. Mine is TRL77.99 a month.

          • @j1nk0r: Thank you. I have an android phone but should be the same, i would think.

    • me too haha

    • +3

Forever is a long time and you never know if it is not in your possession. But free is free

      • in this digital world you are correct, but even if i got a year out of it i would be happy!

    • +1

      yes you can

      • awesome

    • +1

This FREE Membership gives 1 credit (1 Title free) per month.
So FREE 2 books + $20 towards another book.

Books are still available to use after paid membership ends. I've had mine from free memberships since 2016.

Thanks. Going from ops link it only said 30 days free, but going by Amazon I found the link for two months free, plus the $20 audible voucher.

Was planning to join to try Greenlights - Matthew McConaughey bio so this is alright, alright alright!!!

I received 2 months for $0.99. That voucher would have been nice!

  • If you don't use the voucher can i please have it?

    • Doubt that will work! Likely non-transferable.
Voucher is applied to the account set up in offer.

  • Received email but still not working. Maybe for first timers?

    • For new Audible users.

      • +1

Not a new Audible member. Just not active for a while. Received & activated offer.

        • Odd as it literally says "Offer is for new members of Audible in Australia or New Zealand who sign up for an Audible membership" in the email terms

          • @Aidan9800: Yes - as I commented below "Offer is for new members of Audible", BUT…
Worked for me. So worth a try for others!

Books show added to this account since 2016. Last added 2022.

            Have never paid for membership.
Free trial offers failed for me in 2023, because "you've already had a free trial!".
At last a working free trial in 2024πŸŽ‰

  • Alas, doesn’t work for me

Your Audible membership is active. You will be charged $0.00 to your MasterCard card ending in #### in your first two months. Thereafter Audible is from $16.45/month. Renews automatically, cancel anytime.

You are on the Audible Premium Plus plan.
You have 1 credit(s), good towards any title! Your next credit will arrive on 02/04/24
(04Feb) charged to your MasterCard card

$20 voucher is valid to end of year - shouldn't need active paid membership to redeem.

Don't forget to cancel after redeeming credits, before end of 2 months!
(Forgot once. Contacted Audible few days after charge - got a refund)

  • I was going to buy a book for 18, this is sweet as.. πŸ˜‚

  • Never received the $20 voucher last time i took this offer.

  • Effectively this is 3 free audio books, which is great. Paying AUD $16.45 monthly is for chumps. I recently cancelled an extended trail and I was able to resubscribe seemingly permanently for $8 a month.

It is possible to "jailbreak" Audible purchases so you can listen to them on any software you like. You can download the aax files from Audible's library page and use special software to strip the DRM encryption. Inside is usually a 63 kb/sec Aac encoded file M4b or a 126 kb/sec Aac (no transcoding involved, no quality loss). 64 kb/sec might seem like a very low bitrate, but you can use much lower bitrates for voice only than you would use with music.

    • +1

Could you please provide a little more detail on how you were able to permanently subscribe for $8 a month?

      • +1

I just went through the cancellation process to the very end. Then I noticed in the middle of the page a resubscribe for $8. However, it doesn't look like it is permanent, but rather just $8/month for 3month months and then revert to $16.45. I had previously taken up an $8/month for 3 month offer, so the offer may only be targeted to people who did the same as me.

This is the URL where I re-subscribed for $8/moth; the offer was in themiddlke of the page below the rectangular box: https://www.audible.com.au/account/overview?cancel

I hope you have luck getting lower prices.

        • Awesome, thank you for elaborating

I was surprised to see how many Audio books were available on spotify https://open.spotify.com/
Was about to get on audible, but Spotify had it.

    • I believe they only give you a limited number of book streaming hours per month though unfortunately.

  • maybe a silly question, but i took this offer just now and signed up for free. I couldnt see the $20 voucher though? How do I use / access it please?

    Thanks
