    Wow times have changed. I remember when I was in school the shoe dress code was way stricter. Black or brown leather lace ups or you got written up.

      In those days, they’d cost more but Australian-made shoes would last a year. Above junk (I’ve similar looking NBs) unlikely to last 3 months. Really bad ROI.

  I suspect everyone negging has forgotten how hot, stiff, heavy and generally awful leather school shoes were. I wish I'd been able to wear this sort growing up. And in my experience at primary school age, kids outgrow shoes before they destroy them, so they don't have to be especially tough.

    Yep, I use to HATE wearing those heavy, uncomfortable, leather shoes to school.
    Would have much rathered these, if we were allowed to back then :)
