Apparently the fan on this kicks in under fairly light loads and its lowest speed is >1000rpm so not a good choice if you want silent operation under light loads.

    • Put one in my computer the other day. Has not span up at all.

A tier speculative is the MPG version.
The differences are not clear (apart from being more betterer), the most obvious is the switch on the MPG for 0% RPM mode."
I was that close to buying the Corsair 850e, but the noise seemed to be a problem for many.

A850GL is more in between A and B tier. It uses CapXon capacitors (not Japanese capacitors) and the warranty is 7 years (instead of 10 for a proper A tier PSU). The dual colour 1x PCI-E 12VHPWR cable is handy though. While that cable is rated 600W, it is unlikely the actual power supply provides 600W through 12BHPWR (it is unrealistic to expect any 850W PSU to allocate 600W to that, leaving just 250W for everything else).

  • FYI HWB doesn't allow hotlinking, so your linked image won't be served to most people clicking it.

I think you're also being rather generous with the description of "much better performing" (emphasis added) given the contents of the linked review.

$175 at Amazon AU, CORSAIR RM850 (2021), RM Series, 850 Watt 80 Plus Gold this one is decent, not 850e.

      not 850e

I just ordered it from Amazon and I feel safe because it's listed and shipped by Amazon so easy return&refund.
I'll try it and see how it goes, some people are complaining about noise but that could be due to a bad batch so let's see.
This PSU is very high regarded on pcpartpicker.
