Looking at a windows laptop under $1000, have a $500 jbhifi gift card to go towards it.
Not looking for a gaming machine, just a basic all rounder for school work and light media.
Something that can be upgraded if needed and not dead in two years. Not really interested in chrome books or 2 in 1 form factor. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

I know you can write on the screen using the surface pen but does the screen flip all the way around tablet-style?

I just don't see the need for unrelated comments… I simply asked for any suggestions on grabbing a cheap laptop. Sorry I missed the tip of the hat, but just so used to negative snide remarks as always. I don't know why people bother.
Which ones have you seen that you may like?
